Colossal Biosciences, the company bringing wooly mammoths and other extinct species back to life, and production partner Teton Ridge Entertainment are teaming with acclaimed filmmaker James Reed on a multiyear docuseries.
Reed – the Oscar-winning director of My Octopus Teacher – and producing partner Matt Houghton will executive produce the de-extinction series through Reed’s Underdog Films banner. Jillian Share for Teton Ridge Entertainment and Michael Dougherty are also on board as executive producers. Filmmaker Sophie Todd (Formula 1 – Drive To Survive) has joined the project as showrunner.

Exclusive: We can tell you first that Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary of Revelations Entertainment and Jay Firestone of Prodigy Pictures are partnering with geneticist and Crispr pioneer George Church to develop and produce a dramatic series centered on the dangerous and life-affirming ways the technology can impact the world.
The series, to be written and produced by Nick Torokvei, explores the personal and global implications of cutting-edge gene editing and engineering technologies being used in the effort to combat climate change.
“We are honored to be working directly with George Church,” Freeman and McCreary said. “He has been at the forefront of new genetic technology that is certain to impact all of our lives in more ways – and faster – than we think.”

Bay Area Lyme Foundation, a leading sponsor of Lyme disease research in the United States, brought together scientists, philanthropists, celebrities and patients for the sixth annual LymeAid, an event aimed at raising funds to make Lyme disease easy to diagnose and simple to cure.
This year’s benefit dinner and concert raised more than $1 million, of which 100 percent will go directly to fund research and education projects for Lyme disease.
“Support for Lyme disease research continues to grow, perhaps because of the increasing numbers of people who are severely impacted,” remarked Linda Giampa, executive director, Bay Area Lyme Foundation. “We are honored to have renowned scientists and up-and-coming researchers lending their expertise to our efforts, and taking the time to educate and engage philanthropists and high-profile personalities through our annual LymeAid event.”
