Andrea D. Daste
- Actress
Andrea was born in Manteca, CA on September 30th, 1980 to parents Walt
and Dawnette Daste. She was 27 days late being born, and her father
joked that meant she waited until all eyes could be on her. She began
performing at the age of 5 in dance recitals, and choirs. At the age of
8, she was cast in an elementary school performance of "Cats" and she
left dancing behind to pursue acting. By the age of 20 she had already
performed in, or crewed for, 20 plays. In High School, she was awarded
the Bank Of America Award for Excellence in Dramatic Arts. At the age
of 19, she joined Stockton Civic Theatre in a production of "Hello,
Dolly!" as Ermengarde Vandergelder. She continues to perform at this
theatre, earning awards for performances in "Annie Get Your Gun," "Run
For Your Wife," and "Lend Me A Tenor." Though she has done more
musicals than any other genre, she considers Comedy and Farce to be her
specialties. In 2008, she was cast in her first Motion Picture "Bad
Faith" as Bree Williams. Her father, mentor, best friend, and biggest
fan Walt passed away unexpectedly in 2009. She used this loss to learn
how to take on more dramatic roles, such as her critically acclaimed
performance in 2013's "Fiddler on the Roof".
