"One Tree Hill" executive producer Mark Schwahn has never shied away from cliffhangers, as evidenced by his Season 7 finale, which ended with two characters shot and bleeding despite a still uncertain Season 8 pickup.
This season, Schwahn may be a little more cautious. "I'm not a fan of ending our series on a cliffhanger," he assures Zap2it. "I don't intend to do that. Do I think that this is our final season? Right now, my instinct says yes, but anything can happen. We still love making this show, and if the network wants us back, we'll keep going."
In the meantime, the "One Tree Hill" team awaits word from The CW on whether or not they'll receive a full 22-episode order. Reports have been conflicting. "Right now, we're already talking about Episode 11 in the writers' room," Schwahn says. "We're trying not to let the 'will-we-get-picked-up' question impact the way that we tell our stories,...

“I don’t want to be anything other than what I’ve been trying to be lately. All I have to do is think of me and I have peace of mind.” These are the lyrics to the theme song of One Tree Hill, and I believe that they embody the spirit of the show. One Tree Hill is full of spoiled, self-centered people who do not care how their actions affect anyone besides themselves, and they spend most of their time complaining about how tough and unfair life is to them. They are overgrown middle-schoolers with credit cards. I have no sympathy for these people, and I cannot understand how this show lasted for seven (now going on eight) seasons.
At the beginning of the seventh season, One Tree Hill has lost leading characters Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton), and the season focuses most of its...

Tonight's episode of One Tree Hill will mark either the season or series finale. The CW network isn't scheduled to announce their upcoming renewals and cancellations until Thursday but we should know the show's fate tonight.
One Tree Hill began as the story of two half-brothers, their relationship, and their romances. Longtime castmembers Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton left the series last year. Many expected the series to quickly fold but some believe it's found a new life creatively. The current cast includes Antwon Tanner, Austin Nichols, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Jackson Brundage, James Lafferty, Lee Norris, Lisa Goldstein, Paul Johansson, Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten, Michael Grubbs, and Sophia Bush.
While it's looking promising that One Tree Hill will return for season eight, the cast and crew weren't taking any chances. They filmed two endings -- one to end the season and one that...

Michael Grubbs has revealed that he would like to appear in another season of One Tree Hill. The musician joined the show as bartender Grubbs after creator Mark Schwahn discovered him at an open mic night. "I didn't really know much about the show, so I didn't have any idea what I was getting into," Grubbs told Zap2It. "[Losing my credibility] probably would've been an issue if I've ever in my life been cool, but I've never really been cool. As far as the music goes, I think the music speaks for itself. If people are going to think it's not cool because I'm an actor on a television show, then like... That's Ok! Whatever." Grubbs added that he is close with the other stars (more)...

"One Tree Hill" star James Lafferty recently wrapped his seventh season on the show, so he's used to fans recognizing him. Co-star Michael Grubbs, the frontman of the band Wakey!Wakey! who joined the cast this season as musically-inclined bartender Grubbs, isn't quite as accustomed to the attention.
"Last night I went out with James here in New York, he's visiting, and for the first time ever I got recognized before him," Grubbs tells Zap2it. "These girls came up to me and said they had watched me on 'One Tree Hill' and really liked the band, and James was kind of just standing beside me. I'm talking to these girls for a minute, and then suddenly, they realize James is there and they freaked out. Like, 'Oh my god! You're James Lafferty!' I was like, 'And, we're back to normal.'"
Fame is new to Grubbs,...

"One Tree Hill" has served as a launching pad for many musical artists over the years, including Bryan Greenberg, Kate Voegele, Bethany Joy Galeotti, and Tyler Hilton -- all of whom have played musicians on the show, with their own material integrated into the plot line.
Wakey!Wakey! frontman Mike Grubbs follows in their footsteps playing a bartender with some serious skills on the piano. He's the latest hire at the Tree Hill club Tric (sometimes taking over for old favorite Chase, played by "Laguna Beach" alum Stephen Colletti) and was recently signed to Peyton and Haley's Red Door Records.
Mark Schwahn, the creator of "One Tree Hill," was so intrigued by Wakey!Wakey!'s track "War Sweater" that he included it on the series' Season 6 finale, and then wrote Grubbs a recurring role. Since then, Grubbs has performed his songs "Brooklyn" and "Car Crash" on the show.
