Jay Faisca
- Actor
- Producer
Jay Faisca is a Puerto Rican American actor from the Bronx. He is a graduate of the Bristol Old Vic MFA program - the first Puerto Rican to attend the school. He also studied at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC and performed at Upright Citizens Brigade in California. His credits range from sketch comedy such as web series Sketched in Stone, to procedurals such as CSI. He has also appeared in national commercials for the NFL America Airlines, and Verizon, as well as the short films Clean Exit and #Married.
On stage, some of his favorite roles include Estragon in Waiting for Godot and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing.
More recently, he appeared as Sitting Bull in Annie Get Your Gun, spearheading a reinvention of the character to add depth and remove some of the harmful stereotypes, for which he received many positive reviews, including "Stealing the show with knowing looks to the audience and immaculate comic timing, Jay Faisca delivers the tricky part of Sitting Bull with a detached wisdom - if this were Netflix, he'd be on his way to a spin-off series" - Gary Naylor. He was also asked to write a guest blog for Broadway World detailing his recent experiences surrounding school and the show.
He has just finished a workshop of a new piece, Barista: The Musical, as well as a staged (and also very well reviewed!) reading of a new play, entitled Water Party. Both of which are heading to full productions in the Summer and Fall of 2024.
