James de Boer was born in the small northern town of Hazelton, British
Columbia, Canada. At the tender age of twelve, de Boer discovered his
interest in film by making short biking videos with his cousins and
brother. In the summer of 2005, de Boer worked hard to get a job and
ended up landing one as a camp counselor at his former elementary
school. He worked there all summer to save up enough money to buy a
small Panasonic camcorder. He then proceeded to write/shoot his first
film simply titled "Larry's Bar." The film was about a struggling
bartender who couldn't keep up with his bills so he took up dealing
cocaine. It was a smash hit around his high school and still is to this
day. Ever since that summer, de Boer's interest in film has never been
more prominent. He has made various award winning PSAs and shorts that
have made a name for himself. He has recently graduated from Capilano
University with his diploma in Motion Picture Production. Currently,
(June 2009) James is working on a documentary about former NHL enforcer
Link Gaetz.
