It has been nearly two months since the last episode of the Machinima exclusive web series, 'Mortal Kombat: Legacy' was released. That's about 10 years in the world of entertainment. It's astonishing that somebody hasn't tried to reboot the series by now. The previous episode was the second part of the tale of the one-line king himself, Scorpion. This latest episode delves into the world of extreme body modification with Cyrax (Shane Warren Jones) and Sektor, (Peter Shinkoda) two men whose parents doomed them to becoming cyborgs by giving them such names. Kano (Darren Shahlavi) makes a special guest appearance as well, but he's not looking like the 'Terminator' circa 1984, so this episode must take place prior to his battle with Jax (Michael Jai White) and Sonya. (Jeri Ryan)It's uncertain if the series will extend past this episode. It's long been known that it's going to be making...

After making its premiere over at Comic Con, the ninth and final episode of Kevin Tancharoen’s web series “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” finally makes its premiere on the net. The final episode is surprisingly gory (via the operating sequence), and is another origins tale of Mk fighters Sektor and Cyrax. I guess there was never really any intention of “completing” the series by eventually introducing the Mortal Kombat plot. Or somewhere along the way they forgot about that and just started doing origin stories. Go figure. Cyrax and Sektor are chosen to be the future of the Lin Kuei by the Grand Master, but Cyrax is less than enthusiastic about giving his life over to a cybernetic transformation that will erase his memories and turn him into the ultimate fighting machine. When he discovers that the cyborg he is fighting seems closely familiar, Sektor must keep Cyrax focused on destroying Hydro,...

The first episode of the web series, 'Mortal Kombat: Legacy' is set to kick off shortly on Machinima's YouTube channel. In the meantime, they've posted a brand-new trailer showing off what you can expect from the 9-part series. Check it out below. Most of the cast is there: Ian Anthony Dale as Scorpion, Kevan Ohtsji as Sub Zero, Darren Shahlavi as Kano, Michael Jai White as Jax, Sam Tjhia as Kitana, Shane Warren Jones as Cyrax, and more. It's a short trailer, but it crams in about as many 'Mortal Kombat' faces as possible. Having gained a great deal of attention with his short film, 'Mortal Kombat: Rebirth,' Kevin Tancharoen is at the helm of 'Legacy.' Unlike 'Rebirth,' which spun a vastly different tale from the video games, 'Legacy' is very much rooted in the traditional 'Mortal Kombat' universe. Source: Machinima...
