- Nikos Kourou was born in Kozani in northern Greece. He has studied acting and attended seminars on directing and cinema. He has also participated in theatrical performances and in the 2004 film ''Brides," directed by Pantelis Voulgaris and produced by Martin Scorsese. In 2013 he wrote, directed and starred in his first short film, "Into the Darkness,'' which won two Audience Awards in the 2015 Fantastical Film Festival of Athens. In April 2014 he completed the short film ''Fear." In February 2015 his short film ''Thanks for Accepting Me'' won the Judges' Selection in Pervolia International Film Festival 2015, ''We Can Do'' Award in Bridges Peloponnesian International Film Festival 2015, a Honorary Prize in the Athens International Digital Film Festival 2015 and a Prize in CreActive International Open Film Festival (IOFF). In December 2015 he completed the short documentary ''Idomeni'' and his first feature film ''Utopia, An Adult's FairyTale''. ''Utopia'' won 2 awards in the 11th Cyprus Film Festival, for Best leading actor (Nikos Kourou) and Best Score (Giannis Papadimitriou), award for Best Score in the 7th Bridges Film Festival, an award for Best Feature Film in the 6th Athens International Digital Film Feastival.
