- Anil Sadarangani is a UCLA trained writer and filmmaker. He worked in the Indian media for 10 years, from 2000 to 2010. An English graduate from the University of Mumbai, he worked as a writer in leading publications like the Times of India (The World's Largest Selling/ Circulated English Broadsheet Daily), Mid-Day, DNA and others. In his latest writing venture, he was instrumental in getting international publisher Harper Collins to publish the Coffee Table book of the first Indian to win an Oscar award, acclaimed and multiple award-winning veteran costume designer Bhanu Athaiya (who won the Oscar for Richard Attenborough's 'Gandhi'). He also helped her writing the book. He created and co-wrote Hollywood-based Hanuman Media's upcoming TV series 'Bollywood To Hollywood'. The entire project was written & co written by Anil Sadaragani, Saba Moor-Doucette & Jeff Doucette. He has just completed writing and filming a documentary for the Tibet India Foundation on the 50-year struggle of Tibetan in exile for which he interviewed His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama at his private residence in Dharamsala. He also traveled to Oslo to interview the only living member of the committee that bestowed the Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness in 1989. He also traveled to Poland to interview Mayor of Wroclaw city that bestowed upon His Holiness a Lifetime Honorary Citizenship award. When he took the leap into film writing and filmmaking, his first short film, DIM, made it to the Official Selection list at the New York Short Film Festival, the San Francisco Short Film Festival and the Festival De Cine De Barcelona Internacional in 2007. He has worked with Network 18's/ Viacom's online division as Broadband Producer, having conceived, written, produced and directed several shorts, web series and shows. He conceived and programmed a short film festival titled 'The Buzz18 Short Film Festival' in association with Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC), a leading film studio in Bollywood. He has been Assistant Director to Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar on his recent film 'Fashion' as well as worked on a Bollywood action film 'Prince' as Assistant Director. He has written a Bollywood film titled 'Pyaar Happens', being directed by filmmaker Hadi Ali Abrar. He also co-wrote and directed corporate films for companies such as Education World Films, making corporate films in the education sector.
