Daniel Bury was born on January 26, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona and is also a permanent resident of Australia. Daniel's passion for pushing the boundaries of technology and storytelling led him to virtual reality production in 2015. In 2021, Micro Monsters with David Attenborough, a VR series in which he worked as Director of Photography in Australia, was nominated for 2 Emmy awards. He directed several VR & AR works from 2016 to 2021 during the emergence of immersive media, VR, AR & XR. Myanmar: A Poem for U Kyi Thaw and Nepal: When Mountains Move were both exhibited at Cannes Next 2016 and 2017. With support from Google, Daniel Directed Yawarani in collaboration with the Yawanawa Indigenous community in the Amazon Rainforest. In 2018 his VR work Night Becomes Day won the LearnX Impact Award for its integration with training course for the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. Prior to 2015, Daniel worked as a film director and VFX artist in Los Angeles and Sydney.
Daniel attended Chapman University in Southern California for Directing and Digital Arts. He is based in Byron Bay, Australia.
