Carolyn Sortor is an artist whose practice often includes video,
curation, or relational strategies. She is known for organizing the
first program of video art made for the 193 x 999' LED screen wrapping
the Omni Dallas Hotel and for her videos, "Glass Valley (or, does this
building make my butte look big)," "Grace at Camp Casey," and
"Creamistress 6: 'The Centered Polenta,'" among other things.
Her videos have been shown at the Dallas Museum of Art and in New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Austin, and elsewhere and broadcast on Current TV, and in 2013 she received a Dallas Observer "Mastermind" award. She has a B.F.A. purchased from Ben B. Britt and (as of 2014-08-13) is working on an artificial M.F.A.
