Fox will keep its Missing Persons Unit on the job for another season.
The network has renewed the drama series Alert: Missing Persons Unit for a third season in 2024-25. The series will remain in production after season two wraps, which will bank episodes leading into next season and potentially serve as a hedge against a possible IATSE strike in the summer.
Alert is one of just two dramas Fox has aired in 2023-24 as the network relied heavily on its unscripted and animated rosters, which weren’t affected by last year’s dual strikes. Fox has yet to make a call on the other drama, The Cleaning Lady.
Alert stars Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez as Philadelphia detectives who head the city’s missing persons unit and work to find missing or abducted people and reunite them with loved ones. Adeola Role, Ryan Broussard and Alisha-Marie Ahamed also star...

Exclusive: Fox has given a Season 3 pickup to Alert: Missing Persons Unit. The renewal of the procedural drama, starring Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez, has been expected.
To make filming more cost-efficient for series producers Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment, Alert will remain in continuous production, segueing from the abbreviated-by-the-strikes second season to Season 3, whose episode count is still Tbd, I hear. There is an additional benefit to filming Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back — Fox will have fresh episodes of the series in case production is disrupted by an IATSE strike this summer.
There is no word yet on Fox’s other outstanding drama series, The Cleaning Lady. As Deadline has reported, it also is looking good for renewal.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost for Megan Boone's Liz Keene, we have an exciting new update!
NBC has confirmed when the character will be back on the Friday night drama, and it's soon.
The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 14, titled “Misère,” brings Liz back to the forefront several months after her last appearance.
"In a retrospective look at key turning points, steps are retraced that lead Elizabeth Keen to align with a powerful enemy," reads the logline.
If you watch The Blacklist online, you know Liz last appeared back in January after a botched attempt at killing Red.
It's been a polarizing storyline amongst the fans, but might there be a big payoff in the end?
We're finally going to learn the nuts and bolts of what happened from the perspective of Liz.
Yes, the episode will be Liz-centric, and it makes sense when you consider that she's been Mia.

Person of Interest, Season 3, Episode 21: “Beta”
Written by Dan Dietz and Sean Hennen
Directed by Frederick E.O. Toye
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on CBS
In every story, there are certain necessary contrivances that, while you wish could be side-stepped, the narrative simply needs to enact. In Lost, for example, the survivors need to leave the Island to realize that they belong there. Even though it’s eye-roll inducing, it’s a direction the story needs to take and is allowed that. The same can be said of “Beta”.
In the case of Person of Interest, its story called for the fact that the very existence of Finch (Michael Emerson) would at some point put the life of his former fiancée Grace Hendricks (Carrie Preston) at risk, despite her not even being aware that he’s still alive. It’s a tired and tried plot element that anyone with...

There are times in life when you’re forced to do something not because you want to, but because you have no choice but to do it. Who among us hasn’t taken a crappy job for the sole reason that you won’t rent otherwise? In a perfect world we do the work we want and love with a big salary attached and life is good. The real world is far more cruel that, however, and sometimes you just suffer through that bad job. Hopefully it’s never to the point of this week’s number, Kelli Lin (Elaine Tan), who is extorted into stealing art by criminals that have her daughter.
Clearly theft of any kind is reprehensible and wrong, but when you’re caught between...

Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on CBS
“The Perfect Mark” opens with Finch (Michael Emerson) undercover once more as a patient for Hayden Price (Aaron Staton), a con man posing as a hypnotherapist to get sensitive information out of people. In the opening scene, it looks like this hypnotherapist, fraud though he may be, might be able to squeeze some information from Finch about his past, but no, Finch is a tough nut to crack and it’ll probably be some time before the show reveals the hush-hush world of Finch’s pre-Machine life. All we know is that Finch might have been a legendary hacker in his past life and is still a wanted man, by his old name at least. Back to the case, though- Price has managed to get involved...
