Scott O'Brien(IV)
Scott O'Brien, film biographer, was born in Ogden, Utah. He has written
various articles for publications such as Films of the Golden Age and
Filmax. His first book, Kay Francis - I Can't Wait to be Forgotten, was
released by BearManor Media in 2006. It was among Classic Images
magazine's "Best of the Year." O'Brien's second release was, Virginia
Bruce - Under My Skin. Daeida Magazine declared, "O'Brien successfully
brings Virginia Bruce to life in a way that is believable, intelligent
and never pitiable ... a well-researched, tactful, and skilled
examination into the tragedy of a talented, beautiful and popular
figure in film history."
In 2010, O'Brien's "Ann Harding - Cinema's Gallant Lady," was listed among the "Best Film Books for 2010" by the Huffington Post. Author Mick LaSalle (Complicated Women)wrote, "I'm especially impressed that Scott O'Brien has managed to come up with a thick, fact-filled, smart and very readable biography of this enormous talent."
Scott's fourth release is the up-coming biography on the much neglected stage and film actress, Ruth Chatterton. It is scheduled for a 2013 publication date from BearManor.
