There are only a few weeks left until 2010 is behind us, so it's time to look back on the year and recall our favorite comics, comic book movies, toys, games, and other items that made the year so memorable.
Over the next three days, we'll roll out our Best Of 2010 selections, starting with today's list of the best comic books, webcomics, graphic novels, and story arcs of 2010. Keep it locked to Splash Page throughout the rest of the year for more of our Best Of 2010 lists, as well as everything else that carved out a place for itself on our bookshelves, display cases, office desks, and news cycle throughout the year.

Monday mornings in the Twitter Report feed aren't going to be the same now that "Mad Men" Season 4 has concluded. Last night's finale received mixed reactions from Gene Ha, Jon Favreau and Steve Lieber, but AMC's definitely planted the seeds of anticipation for "The Walking Dead" among them.
In other topics, Brian Reed found one of the most bizarre anti-comics stances I've ever seen, while Erik Larsen laid out a difference of opinion has with John Byrne and Joe Hill relayed his satisfaction after seeing "Red." You can find out where your differences of opinion lie after the jump.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for October 18, 2010.
@BrianReed Just ran across someone whose sole reason for not reading comics was the bold words in the dialog. Said they found it too distracting.

@DavidGallaher If you ever had doubts...

The first installment of 2010's Comic-Con International schedule has been released, and it's already shaping up to be as busy as usual in San Diego.
The first chapter of the massive Comic-Con 2010 schedule covers Preview Night on Wednesday, July 21, and the first full day of events on Thursday, July 22. And if the first day is any indication, it's going to be another crazy year.
You can check out the full schedule of Wednesday/Thursday events at Sdcc's official website, but I've pulled a few of the highlights (in my opinion, at least).
With "Smallville" entering its final season, it will be interesting to see what Wednesday's Wbtv event might have in store for fans:
6:00-9:00 Special Sneak Peek Pilot Screenings— Wbtvg continues its Comic-Con tradition of hosting a special sneak peek premiere event on preview night, this year offering fans two opportunities to screen one of the fall...

"Octopus Pie: There Are No Stars In Brooklyn" hit shelves this week, bringing writer/artist Meredith Gran's celebrated webcomic to the print world.
And though the arrival of "Octopus Pie" on shelves is big news on its own, this seems like a good time to bring your attention to a few other print collections of webcomics that you might want to check out, too.
Each of the three books I highlight here manages to offer something new to fans of the series online, while also giving first-time readers a great standalone story. Rather than serve as an excerpt or teaser for the ongoing comics each collection is culled from, the books offer full stories unfolding in their respective comics' universes and great examples of why each series continues to be so popular among fans.

TV shows are dropping like flies this week. Yesterday, "Lost" dominated tweeting, and today it was "24."
Movies popped up too, though, with Jock showing off an "Losers" tribute to "Ocean's Eleven" and a couple up webcomics creators speaking up about "The Last Airbender." Of course there were some day-to-day work tweets as well. David Petersen was contemplating a "Fraggle Rock" cover. Jimmy Palmiotti was working patiently with Los Angeles, and Gail Simone was quite content to have seen "MacGruber." Find out how that made her feel below.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for May 25, 2010.

I've retweeted links to original Philip Tan artwork in the Twitter Report before, but the TwitPic link he posted last night with Wonder Woman and Batwoman is perhaps he best post yet. If you want to know to get that skilled at drawing, there are a few tips retweeted today as well, straight from the account of artist Mike Choi.
In other comments, Paul Cornell is excited about English cricket season kicking off. He knows that you probably aren't, that's Ok. Also Ok? The movie "How to Train Your Dragon," according to "Octopus Pie" creator Meredith Gran. Check out her micro-review and the most spectacular Google ad I've ever heard of after the jump.
It's all in the Twitter Report for April 8th, 2010.
@granulac How to Train Your Dragon was pretty good, if not labored over. Am I alone in thinking Hiccup didn't need a girlfriend, though?

The Winter Olympics athletes in Vancouver are ready to hit the slopes, and while some sports fans (like Kevin Smith) expect big things, other faces in the Twitter Report (like Rob Liefeld) just want "30 Rock" to return to its regularly scheduled time slot.
Elsewhere across the Twitterverse, Jon Favreau paid a visit to the Abbey Road Studios and took a picture, Phil Hester laid out his honest opinion about Valentine's Day, and a micro-review of "Blackest Night: The Question" showed up from Gabriel Hardman. Check those out after the jump, where you can also find out who's been trying to get in touch with Kieth Giffen and what Christopher Mintz-Plasse would like to see happen on "Lost" now that it's sharing cast members with "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
Enjoy the long weekend and the Twitter Report for February 12, 2010.

Two men with far-reaching influences on the comics industry have passed away, and both Taco Bell founder Glen W. Bell Jr. and crime writer Robert B. Parker appeared in various tweets this morning. Check out the posts below and you'll find out which well-known artist used to work at a Taco Bell and which writer steamrolled through Parker's novels when he was in junior high.
In other news, Jon Favreau's tireless efforts to complete "Iron Man 2" continue, and he says he's on the "home stretch" right now — the beginning of the end, in other words. The Twitter Report will continue to cheer him on until we've got a film to watch, just as Brian Michael Bendis' kids anxiously anticipate the next episode of "iCarly." Find out why, as well as what Jeff Lemire's inks for the "Sweet Tooth" #9 cover look like and what Tom Brevoort thinks of...

The winter holiday season is full of traditions big and small, but around the comics scene, the arrival of fun, holiday-themed cards from creators and publishers is one of my favorites.
I've scanned and posted some of the holiday cards we've received at Splash Page HQ this year, but before we get to them, I couldn't resist posting this special Christmas video from "Octopus Pie" creator Meredith Gran. It's the sort of thing that could make the heart of even the grinchiest grinch grow a few sizes.
Now, on to the holiday cards.
Radical Publishing
Tony Lee
Dark Horse Comics
Mike Drake, Mezco Toyz
DC Comics
Idw Publishing
Have a great Holiday Season!

Epic competitions abounded last night as the Yankees bested the Angels to win yet another World Series appearance. New Yorker and Marvel Eic Joe Quesada was so overcome with hometown pride that he's even forsaken his allegiance to the Mets for the duration of the Mlb post season, according to his tweets.
Meanwhile, on the Internet, "Adventures of Dr. McNinja" creator Chris Hastings was involved in a cutthroat contest of voting, wherein his super-cute dog Commissioner Jim Gordon might have won him $1 million. He seemed to have the backing of nearly every webcomic creator on Twitter, that's for sure. Check out who was behind him, as well as the problem Mike Oliveri has with "New Moon" werewolves, which artist Andy Diggle is planning a new creator-owned series with and whether Gail Simone will ever want to write for Marvel again.
It's all after the jump in the Twitter Report for October 26, 2009.
