- Juan Meyer has a Bachelor in Arts Degree by the Universidad Iberoamericana. He studied Playwriting with Hugo Arguelles, Mexico's foremost dramatist. Arguelles was the author of such acclaimed plays as Los Cuervos estan de luto and El Tejedor de Milagros, which were turned into very successful movies. Meyer wrote an essay about the complete body of work of Hugo Arguelles, titled "La Travesia Magica de Hugo Arguelles", which was published in 1998, and was named by Reforma newspaper, as one of the best books on Theatre of that year. Juan Meyer also has a successful career in the Marketing field, where he has worked over the years for several companies including Burson-Marsteller, Levi's and MTV. For his work in Marketing, he has received important awards, and was named in 2003 one of "The 30 Promises in their 30's", by Expansion, Mexico's leading business magazine. Meyer has been writing plays, short stories and scripts since the early 90s, and "Paradas Continuas" is his first produced screenplay. Based on a short story of his called "Rapiditos Motorizados", about two kids who set up a motel type business in a van, he thought the tale had the best shot at becoming a viable commercial project and he wrote a full length screenplay based on the tale in December of 2003. In a dinner in 2004, the subject of the "Rapiditos Motorizados"screenplay came up in a dinner with famous Mexican TV host, Gloria Calzada. Gloria Calzada immediately got excited about the project, and brought her brother on board to produce, Luis Calzada, the owner of Quality Films, along with Federico Gonzalez Compean and Monica Lozano, of Altavista Films. Major partners FIDECINE, Cinepolis and Videocine also joined as co producers. "Paradas Continuas" opens October 16th in Mexico.
