Upon graduating from BCIT's School of Television & Broadcast
Communications in 2007, Justin Cousineau quickly launched his career
editing the widely acclaimed feature documentary 65_RedRoses, which
premiered at Toronto's Hot Docs Festival in 2009. The project received
numerous awards and accolades including Best Canadian Program at the
2010 Banff World Television Festival. For his work on the film, Justin
earned a 2010 Leo Award nomination for Best Editing.
In 2009, Justin worked alongside Academy Award winning Director, John
Zaritsky editing his film Leave Them Laughing. Leave them Laughing
premiered at the Hot Docs Festival in 2010 and then travelled the film
festival circuit winning several Audience Choice Awards including
National Film Board Most Popular Canadian Documentary at the 2010
Vancouver International Film Festival - an award which was also
bestowed upon 65_Redroses the year before.
Since completing these 2 documentaries Justin has been consistently
working in Vancouver editing more than 38 hours of broadcast television
for a variety of networks: National Geographic, Slice, W Network, HGTV,
City TV, & OWN.
