- He has is the writer, cinematographer, editor, colorist and the director of all his films till date (2019).
- Yanni's music has been his source of strength during the year he spent in the hospital recovering from the near fatal accident in 2001. After 13 years, he did manage to meet Yanni during his India tour in 2014.
- In 2014, four of his feature films were showcased in the Swedish Indian Film Festival held at Stockholm. The films were Ray, Ghuri, Shada Kalo Aabchaa and Na Hannyate. Till date, this is the highest number of films featured of a single director in any festivals held in Sweden.

- He loves to drive and most of his film ideas have come while him driving down the highways of India.
- He has 14 years of advertising experience with a 5-year term as the Country Head of Grey Worldwide, Bangladesh.
- He is a self taught pianist.
- In 2001, he met with a near fatal accident when a portion of the building he was shooting collapsed and he was caught under the debris for over an hour. He severely damaged his left leg which is now shorter by 3 inches than his right foot.
- He started his career as a junior executive in an advertising agency in Kolkata, India.
