Behind the Mask’s Leslie Vernon Action Figure: “This Rhode Island based toy company has their first line of licensed product out that will surely be a surprise to quite a few horror fans out there. Based on the character from the 2006 movie “Behind the Mask, The Rise of Leslie Vernon”. They have just released their 7” action figure and limited edition reproductions of the mask & scythe props from the movie.
It’s one of the best horror movies in the last 10 years and we’re very excited to have this as our first license says president Neal DeConte who started the company...

Thomas Smith's The Night Shift is based on a 2009 short, of the same name (review here). Now, Smith has expanded the mythos of a graveyard full of undead and rotting residents to a full length feature film. Currently on the film festival circuit with a showing at the Stanley Hotel May 6th, The Night Shift is hard to classify in genre, but the film is full of campy fun. Rue Morgan (Khristian Fulmer), an obvious reference to Rue Morgue magazine, is in the center of the action, with werewolves, and undead Civil War relics threatening to oust him as cemetery caretaker. The two hours spent in the graveyard is mostly a tame time, with The Night Shift struggling to find some much needed pointy teeth.

The Night Shift PosterThe independent, cemetary set picture The Night Shift is getting closer to completion, as the film's first poster proves. The movie art "harkens back to the bygone days of hand-drawn posters," according to director Thomas Smith. The Night Shift PhotoFighting Owl Films is an independent production company based in Mobile, Alabama that is currently working on a feature length film entitled The Night Shift. The Night Shift bills itself as a "supernatural adventure comedy" and filming has just completed on this production. The story for The Night Shift involves a night watchmen named Rue Morgan who must guard the graveyard with a limbless corpse his only friend. Fighting Owl Films has called it a wrap on the Thomas Smith-directed supernatural-adventure-comedy The Night Shift , starring Khristian Fulmer, Erin Lilley, Soren Odom and Jonathan Pruitt. The film will now enter post-production for completion and go on the hunt for distribution. The Night Shift follows Rue Morgan, the undead night watchman at Pinewood Oaks Cemetery.
