Summer kicks off every year on Fox with the return of So You Think You Can Dance and this year just like on American Idol the talent is truly remarkable. Sytycd is currently in its fifth season and with the 100th episode coming up in early July the show has a big surprise for fans. The summer sensation draws in millions of viewers every Wednesday night at 8pm when the dancers hit the stage and on Thursday night at 9pm the eliminations occur. PopStar spoke with Paris Torres & Tony Bellissimo the first two dancers ushers off the stage who each had a special message for their fans and both talked about their most memorable moments. The Top 20 hit the stage last week on So You Think You Can Dance and sadly after dancing their socks off, two fan favorites were sent packing. Paris Torres was the first female to be...

"So You Think You Can Dance" is heating up with great performances, and said goodbye to Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo last week. The show kicked into high gear this week with the first performances by the Top 20 finalists and special performances by singer/rapper Sean Kingston and Tango dancers Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo. Watch the two in action here: The three couples with the fewest votes after Wednesday.s performance show were: Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo; Asuka Kondoh and Vitolio Jeune; and Karla Garcia and Jonathan Platero. After each of the six dancers performed a solo routine, the judges eliminated Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo from the competition. Next week, the competition continues...

Fox has released the official music video for the Top 20 of "So You Think You Can Dance". Using plain white background, the video combines different styles such as jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and ballet.
On Thursday, June 11, the dancing show has sent home the first two contestants and kept 18 people in competition. Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo failed to impress both the audience and the judges that their Hip-Hop piece was placed in the bottom three before then became the determining factor of their elimination.
Speaking of his exit, Tony told TV Guide that "it was a great piece that was not executed the right way." His only regret of not staying longer is his fear of not getting respect. "I wanted to stay (a few) more weeks to prove that I was good," he said.
Meanwhile, Paris agreed with the judge that it was a good but not a great performance.

Could Katie Holmes shake her booty on the So You Think You Can Dance stage sometime this summer? That's the story that appeared earlier this week in Life & Style magazine, but so far it remains only a sketchy rumor. Fox network reps and Katie Holmes' people had no comment on the matter, and Sytcyd's twittering judges, Nigel Lythgoe, Lil' C and Adam Shankman, are staying mum. But what did Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo, season five's first eliminated dancers, reveal about the prospect of Mrs. Cruise appearing on the hit reality competition? Here's what they just told us... When asked about if she had heard that the actress would be appearing on the show, Paris said,...

"So You Think You Can Dance" cut it's first two from the top 20 Thursday night (6-11-09). The unfortunate victims were Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo. The group had apparently started the show off with a dance routine choreographed by Shane Sparks who's been Mia since leaving for MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew". Mary Murphy was unusually loud last night, and would scream directly into Nigel's face a couple of times which was pretty funny.

One guy and one girl from the Top 20 were sent home on "So You Think You Can Dance" on Thursday, June 11. It was just a coincidence that the eliminated ones happened to be a couple who joined forces on Wednesday's performance night, Paris Torres and Tony Bellissimo.
Paris and Tony were coupled on the Top 20 round, crafting a Hip-Hop piece for Black Eyed Peas' "Let the Beat Rock". While Tony is originally a Hip-Hoper, Paris is leaning more into contemporary style. And their Wednesday performance, which was choreographed by the D'umo couple, was rather slow for the beat and not memorable.
Based on audience votes, Paris and Tony were in the bottom three along with two other couples, Asuka Kondoh and Vitolio Jeune as well as Karla Garcia and Jonathan Platero. But the final elimination was determined by the panel of judges who must pick one guy and one girl to be cut off.

Full disclosure: I'm a rabid So You Think You Can Dance fan. Every summer for the past four years the talent on display on this show simply blows every other reality competition out of the water. So much so, that one can even overlook the nagging, hetero-cheerleading presence of producer Nigel Lythgoe on the judging panel.
Nigel's peculiar obsession with the masculinity of male dancers aside, Sytycd raises your standards when it comes to dance. I mean, once you start watching this show it is awfully hard to sit through an episode of Dancing with the Stars.
Sytycd is now in its fifth season, and every year we wonder if they can assemble dancers talented enough to stack up against previous season standouts such as Travis Wall, Danny Tidwell, Neil Haskell, and a host of others.
Well, last week the show announced its finalists for the new season, and the...
