Owen Lee Stairs

Owen Stairs was born the son of missionaries,Lorne and Florence Stairs,
in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He spent his early childhood years traveling
between the Andes and Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. At twelve
years of age he moved to Moncton, New Brunswick and lived in and around
that small city until he left home at nineteen years of age to live in
Toronto, Canada.
In the early 1990's he became involved with Theatre Sports in Toronto, and came face to face with his own personal demons, in the form of an undiagnosed bipolar disorder. In 1996 he suffered a major depressive episode and ended up returning to Moncton where he has lived ever since.
It was back in Moncton that he turned to theatre and became active in the local English theatre community - Moncton is a bilingual, French and English, city. One of his most notable roles was the lead role of Etienne in Alienor, a translation of an Acadian play by Glen Nichols, originally written by Hermenegilde Chiasson.
