Travis Lee Ratcliff grew up in North Texas. After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design, he returned to his home state and got his start working in the trenches of independent filmmaking in Austin.
After a few years, Travis began working as a documentary and commercial director in his own right, creating elevated portraits of working artists. This work culminated in a career creating commissioned short documentary portraits around the world that would go on to be featured prominently online by outlets such as Short of the Week, and receive multiple Vimeo Staff Picks.
His work has been screened at Academy Award-qualifying film festivals like San Francisco International Film Festival, SXSW, and Tribeca.
Travis' work explores the legacy of the west and contemporary Texan identity.
