"Big Mouth" is one of the only shows on TV that understands how truly weird it is to come of age. Over the past five seasons, the series has seen the teens of Bridgeton Middle School grow from shame-faced seventh graders to slightly more confident — if just as cringe-inducing — eighth graders. It's hard to believe these horny, awkward, hilarious kids still have so much more growing up to do, but then again, the well of offbeat and frank humor for this animated comedy never really runs dry.
Check out the trailer for the new season, which looks like it'll include some plot crossover from the spin-off "Human Resources," below.

As we gear up for an awards season ripe with many quality queer films, it’s important to remember smaller successes who may get lost in the shuffle. Lgbt-themed film festivals Outfest and Frameline kicked off the summer, while New York’s own NewFest wrapped up last week. It’s always thrilling to see a gay film get awards attention, like the kind lavished on Luca Guadagnino’s “Call Me By Your Name” and foreign language contender “Bpm (Beats Per Minute).” But it’s been a banner year for nuanced queer films across the board, and especially ones from queer-identified filmmakers.
From up-and-comers making splashy debuts, to longtime favorites who have stepped up their game, the filmmakers on this list represent a varied swath of not only the Lgbt spectrum, but vastly different artistic styles. That means they have the potential to reach different audiences — and open up perspectives across demographics.

Katy B ft. Jessie Ware: 'Aaliyah' (out now)
One surprise we weren't expecting this month was the release of Katy B's new Ep 'Danger', which is available for free now. For only a taster of what's to come on her new album early next year, it's astonishingly good; particularly the Jessie Ware-assisted dub-dance track 'Aaliyah'.
Devlin ft. Diane Birch: 'Rewind' (out January 27)
After scoring his first top ten single with 'Watchtower' earlier this year, Devlin returns with an even more chart-friendly cut in the form of 'Rewind'. But while the melody sounds suspiciously like Heart's 1987 hit 'Alone', he gets plus points for teaming up with Us singer-songwriter Diane Birch. Diana Vickers: 'Bright Eyes' (release date n/a)

For someone whose sort of job it is to be aware of all the new TV that's on each weeknight, it's really a little embarrassing how frequently I just put on some reruns while doing other things around my apartment. This means that I barely pay attention to TV anymore unless it's something I really want to watch, it's sort of like a flickering box of lights that makes my apartment feel not so boring for a little while at a time. Is that weird? Actually, don't tell me, I really don't care. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "Antiques Roadshow" on PBS
"The Bachelor" on ABC
"Enough Already with Peter Walsh" on Own. Okay, so use an anonymous name if you must, but can someone tell me if they're actually watching anything on Own? Because if I don't have to list this shit I won't. I figured for...

Diane Birch, whose 2009 debut, “Bible Belt, was criminally overlooked, returns with a 7-song Ep of cover tunes, Dec. 7. Tagged “The Velveteen Age,” the collection pairs her with fellow Brooklynites, the Phenomenal Handclap Band, on a set of primarily British Goth songs from the likes of The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division and This Mortal Coil. Birch, who arranged the songs, picked material from her formative teen years. "Sitting in my bedroom with my headphones pressed into my ears till they hurt, each song gave me a weird kind of hope for my future. ?I would have never imagined...

While the late 1990's may have been the era of the boy band, the late aughts have given rise to powerful female artists. To celebrate these women in music and support the next generation of female talent, the non-profit Music Unites is launching its second major initiative, Empowering Women Through Music, after successfully funding its first philanthropic focus the Music Unites Youth Choir. The goal of the initiative is to empower, inspire, and help young women learn through educational and musical showcases, workshops, and panels. Music Unites joined Rolling Stone and Garnier Fructis to kick off the program with a special benefit concert featuring Diane Birch, Mia Morretti and Caitlin Moe on Oct.4 at The Standard NYC's Le Bain. Music Unites founder and executive director Michelle Edgar felt this was a major issue that needed to be addressed....

The weather in New York City may have been dreary on Monday night, but nothing could dampen the spirits at the kick-off concert launching Music Unites' Empowering Women Through Music Initiative.
With an unhindered view of the Hudson River from atop the Standard Hotel, violin vixen Caitlin Moe and her performance partner DJ Mia Moretti got the party started with a remix of La Roux's "I'm Not Your Toy." With a reputation for giving high-powered performances -- from sets at Richie Rich's fall runway show to Chelsea Clinton's wedding reception -- Moe added her fiery violin accompaniment to every dance track Moretti threw her way.
"I always surprise her," Moretti explained. "We try to make a little bit of a plan, and then once we start and see what the crowd's like, that's when the surprises come in."

The Valentine’s Day soundtrack. Valentine’s Day is one of those all-star portmanteau affairs – a strain of film-making until recently regarded as the fluff sitting in the cinematic navel, but which now seems to be undergoing a minor revival. Why is that? Because they’re cheap to churn out and make plenty of cash. While it might have barely registered with the frenzied sentinels of geek who maintain such aggressive guard over the internet movie news agenda, last year’s He’s Just Not That Into You (its intersecting relationship-based narratives, big-name cast, and presence of smuggy smug smug smug Bradley Cooper designating it as the obvious precursor to Valentine’s Day) managed to squirrel up nearly as much green at the box-office as the hyped to the seven heavens Watchmen, and on a fraction of the budget too.

Well, it took all day, but finally, on Tuesday night (February 9), organizers revealed the full lineup for the 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, scheduled for June 10-13 in Manchester, Tennessee.
Jay-z, Dave Matthews Band, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, Weezer and Flaming Lips top the bill for this year's 'Roo, a list of more than 90 acts spanning genres and eras.
There are genuine legends (Jimmy Cliff, John Fogerty), established rock acts (the Dead Weather), hip-hop talent (Wale, Nas, Kid Cudi), electro heavyweights (LCD Soundsystem, Thievery Corporation) and bands that hearken back to the festival's earlier, decidedly jammy routes (Medeski, Martin and Wood, the Disco Biscuits), not to mention the annual WTFs (Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, Darryl Hall with Chromeo). All in all, it's a rather jam-packed four days of music.

Touring with Nick Jonas was an eye-opening experience for Diane Birch. Thanks to the teen idol's rabid fans, the retro-pop singer-songwriter, 27, says she witnessed something "similar to Beatlemania" while on the road with Jonas, 17, earlier this year. "I was really surprised at the craziness of the fans and how insane they are - and how genuinely sweet," says Birch, whose song "Valentino" is on the movie soundtrack to the upcoming Valentine's Day. "They would spend hours in the freezing cold just to catch a glimpse of him." Birch logged some indoor quality time with Jonas, whom she calls "super normal and super sweet.

Although she is set to make her movie acting debut in "Valentine's Day", Taylor Swift is not missing out on a chance to lend her musical talent for the film's soundtrack. Two of her songs, "Jump Then Fall" and the brand new "Today Was A Fairytale", are both unveiled to be among the tunes for the album.
In fact, a snippet to "Today Was A Fairytale" has been made available for listening pleasure through the film's new featurette.
