WarnerMedia-owned digital gaming and lifestyle brand Rooster Teeth has announced several new projects today, including a brand new podcast slate for its in-house studio, The Roost, as well as the dates for its second virtual Rtx convention, which will be held from July 8 to 17.
Joining The Roost’s existing podcast lineup -- which includes a just-added audio iteration of Anthony Padilla’s I Spent A Day With YouTube series -- are: Annual Pass, in which Rooster Teeth's Geoff Ramsey and Jack Pattillo scope out the latest theme park news; The Real Canon, covering all things nerd entertainment; and fictional comedy No Dumb Answers, which spoofs the podcasting genre itself. The Roost will facilitate distribution and ad sales for each of its new shows. The division says it quadrupled revenues and saw a 20% increase in listeners in 2020.

In 2015, for the first time, the Let’s Play channel, which stars the members of Rooster Teeth’s Achievement Hunter crew, turned their show into a live experience. That event proved to be a such a hit that three more followed it the next year. Now, in April 2017, the Let’s Play cast is preparing for its most substantial tour yet: Four shows across the Eastern seaboard, all within a one-week span.
Adapting a channel like Let’s Play for a live audience presents several challenges. For instance, how can format that is inherently unscripted overcome speed bumps without the magic of editing? There is also a question of distribution: Should content from these live shows find its way online? Or should it be left as a singular experience for paying guests?
To get some answers, we talked to Jack Pattillo, an Achievement Hunter co-founder and the brains behind the Let’s Play Live experiment.

Despite its comical reputation, Rooster Teeth's Achievement Hunter (aka Ah) doesn’t always just poke fun at other of its gaming team members or make jokes about male anatomy. At one of its many panels this year at the annual Rtx convention, the Ah team, known for their Let's Play and all-around gaming content on YouTube, answered fans’ most pressing questions, including a very serious one about dealing with depression and another about the future of the team’s in-person events.
The panel started off with audience members bringing piles of gifts to the front of the ballroom for the Ah team (like alcohol, drawings, and gaming memorabilia), an act which has become something of a yearly tradition at Ah's Rtx events. Then, the Ah team, which boasts a collective total of 3.9 million subscribers across two YouTube channels, started taking questions from fans. Many audience members asked your typical queries,...

Achievement Hunter (Ah) is upgrading both its digital and real-life digs. The Rooster Teeth gaming-centric subsidiary has announced the creation of a dedicated Ah YouTube channel, as well as a move to its very own offices a building over from Rooster Teeth’s.
In an announcement video from July 1, 2015, Ah members gathered in a disorganized bunch to reveal the news about the upcoming channel and offices. Many of the shows Ah currently hosts on the Rooster Teeth and Let’s Play channels, such as Awhu and Vs, will move to the new video channel. The YouTube destination for future Ah content will be found at youtube.com/achievementhunter.
Ah leads Geoff Ramsey and Jack Pattillo also set forth a challenge to their fans: if the new Achievement Hunter channel gets one million subscribers before August 6, the entire Ah team will host a 24-hour live stream event at the new office location.
