That variety is getting a little wider in the coming weeks, as Redbox’s parent company Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment (Csse) has announced that the service will bring on a total of eight new Fast channels from different providers. HBO Max wants a slice of one of YouTube’s longest-working baking personalities.
The nascent streamer has tapped Rosanna Pansino -- who counts 12 million subscribers and 30 million monthly views -- to headline a new competition series called Baketopia that will premiere on March 25.
The series will see bakers facing off in challenges each week for the chance to win $10,000. The series will feature current baking trends that are proliferating across social media, while challenging contestants to create their own.
Pansino will serve as both host and a judge, and will be joined at the judging table -- or 'cake council', according to the show’s parlance -- by fellow cooking creators Donal Skehan and Timbo Sullivan. The show, which has been in the works for two years, was produced by B17.

ABC’s prestige factor took a hit Sunday night, but don’t blame an off-episode of “Steve Harvey’s Funderdome.”
Netflix made a surprise, late-night announcement that the streaming giant has signed Shonda Rhimes to a multi-year deal with her production company, Shondaland. Rhimes, a long-time and current staple of ABC Thursday night dramas, will produce new original series and other projects for Netflix. She will reportedly receive $10 million per year to generate new content there.
Rhimes’ three existing ABC dramas — “Scandal,” “How to Get Away With Murder,” and “Grey’s Anatomy” — will continue to air on the American Broadcasting Company, including the new seasons slated to air on the 2017-2018 TV schedule. But Rhimes’ longtime producing partner, Betsy Beers, is joining her at Netflix.

On July 14th, Tubefilter and LeftField Media announced Al Roker as one of the headlining speakers at the first-ever Industry Summit at Stream Con NYC. The famous weatherman and long-time Today Show host may seem like an odd choice for an event focused on the world of web video, but Roker has recently established himself as a forward thinker with a keen eye for digital media. We spoke to Roker about the most exciting developments he sees in the ever-changing media landscape.
