Channel 4 is set to air a new documentary that will show a woman’s body being dissected.
The programme, titled My Dead Body, will mark the first time a named donor has been dissected on TV.
My Dead Body will chart the life, death and autopsy of Toni Crews, a mother of two who died of cancer in 2020 at the age of 30.
The series will be narrated in her own words, and shows the dissection in a series of educational workshops intended to educate viewers on the “science of cancer”.
Crews was diagnosed with cancer of the tear gland in 2016, a rare form of the disease which led to her eye being removed. In 2020, she was informed that her condition was terminal.
Agreeing to donate her body to medical science, Crews also consented to it being placed on public display. Earlier this year, she became the first British cadaver...

If you picture a “Lord of the Flies”-style summer camp from the “Great British Bake Off” producers, it might look something like their new reality show for U.K. broadcaster Channel 4, “Kids in the Wild.”
The six-part series from Love Productions and “Love Island” co-producer Motion Content Group is fashioned as a wholesome production that transports a cooped-up pandemic generation “back to an idyllic old-fashioned summer and the carefree abandon of Swallows and Amazons, away from their parents for the first time.”
The show will convene a diverse, 20-member group of 9 to 11 year olds from across the country who will spend part of their summer living in nature, without “the shackles” of adult supervision and rules.
An official description for the show, shared with Variety exclusively, reads: “Empowered to make their own decisions and discover their own resourcefulness, we will ask, ‘Who are the children of Britain in...

The Australian International Documentary Conference (Aidc) will be held entirely online in 2021, with an early line-up of international speakers that includes Sundance Film Festival director Tabitha Jackson, and directors David France (Welcome to Chechnya) and Kirsten Johnson (Dick Johnson is Dead).
Aidc organisers have stated the reconfiguration of the event will allow it to be more accessible, and mean it can offer more international speakers and host a larger contingent of decision makers.
In recognition of the challenges facing the industry, Aidc will also offer a discount on the first 100 All Access passes sold.
The theme for 2021 event will be ‘Moment of Truth’, “recognising that humanity is living in a time when there’s no turning back and crucial decisions need to be made” in areas such as sustainability, resistance, action, truth-telling, innovation and the response to Covid-19.
Aidc CEO and conference director Alice Burgin said: “Aidc is excited to...
