Paul Maguire's Edinburgh College of Art graduation film 'Pebble' was
nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for best Short Fiction in 2008. He then
set about working as an Assistant Director for such award winning
filmmakers as Karel Doing on his experimental short 'Elvenland' (2009),
and Catriona MacInnes on her short film 'I'm In Away From Here' (2008).
In August 2009 Paul began to curate 'Word of Mouth Film Night' which
shows innovative short films from UK while promoting the creation of
low definition films.
In December 2009 Paul co-founded The Forest Drama Group with Suzy Enoch a Scottish actor/director. We developed several original mini-plays including, 'Regret' Paul's first stage play. The group then went on to shoot an unscripted film called 'Teachers', that allowed the actors to improvise around a storyline. The film is now in post-production and will be completed in mid November 2010.
In 2010, Paul directed/produced 'Philippa's Tail' his second short film, which was written by Fintan O'Higgan's an Irish writer and poet.
