Ashley Trainer, a perky former cheerleader from Maple Grove, Minn., blames her exit from Survivor: Samoa on the rain. The 22-year-old chatted with People about Russell’s slimy strategizing, skin loss and sealife smoothies. — Carrie Bell You seemed like you didn’t think you were in trouble of being voted off. Initially, I was like, Oh good. It’s not me. I honestly didn’t think it was. But at tribal with what everyone was saying, I realized I was the next to go. Considering you lost the smoothie reward, and Jeff pointed out that you weren’t good at coconut basketball, wasn’t it naïve to think you weren’t the obvious choice to send home? Yeah, thanks for pointing that out, Jeff. I was probably the obvious choice based on the last two challenges, but I thought my alliance was really tight and I had been good at challenges before those.

Survivor: Samoa's Ashley Trainer was pretty psyched when her tribemate Russell took her under his wing and protected her from elimination for a few weeks, even while she was blowing challenges left and right. But she was less than thrilled once she got back home only to see her biggest ally constantly mock her intelligence and refer to her as part of his "dumb-ass girl alliance." Well, now it's Ashley's turn to strike back! The booted contestant discusses her true feelings about Russell. Not only that, but she has company in her hatred via special co-host Courtney Yates of Survivor: China fame.

One week after (finally) winning its first immunity challenge, the Foa Foa tribe found itself back in the losers' circle on Thursday's Survivor: Samoa. The heavy rain not only kept the entire tribe in close quarters, but it also put a huge damper on any chance of strategizing who to vote off at tribal council. After Ashley Trainer failed to ...

Last night's Survivor Samoa was mostly miserable, thanks to an eating challenge involving local Samoan food blended to be especially disgusting to American contestants, never mind days of rain, causing the cast to be shivering and not have any time to strategize. Ashley Trainer was voted after yet another Foa Foa loss. When we talked a few minutes ago, Ashley took issue with my summary of her contribution: that she "didn't help at all in... keep reading »

No one seemed to enjoy being a part of Survivor: Samoa quite as much as Ashley Trainer. After 15 days of losing, starvation, torrential rain and Russell Hantz, Jaison has cracked like an egg. But Ashley didn't stop grinning the whole time.
Unfortunately last night on Survivor: Samoa the elements conspired against the 22 year old recent college graduate from Maple Grove, Minnesota. She gagged up her smoothie, and that's nothing compared to how badly she choked in the immunity challenge. After finding a way out of being voted off twice before, Ashley found herself unable to turn the tide of tribal opinion while 48 straight hours of rain kept the tribe shelter-bound.

Ashley Trainer got eliminated from "Survivor : Somoa" season 19 episode 5,making her the 5th person to leave "Survivor" this season. The show started,by showing a brief recap of what has been going on in show, leading up to tonight's episode. They recapped how Yasmine got sent home last week. Then they showed more commentary from various contestants on what their plans are, now. Eric gave some brief commentary on how the ocean is. Next, they were presented with another food challenge, which consisted of a series of nasty Somoan smoothies. Each smoothie they were able to get down, won a point for their tribe. Whichever tribe got down the most nasty smoothies, won all the good food. Ashley couldn't get down her smoothie,so tribe Galu won the challenge. Then Russell S decided to send Shannon over to the Foa Foa tribe, which denied her the chance to partake in the feast.

This is the final interview in a series of interviews with Survivor Samoa cast members. Interviewing Ashley was my strangest Survivor interview ever: it took place in the back seat of an SUV while it was raining, and after we were talking for three minutes or so, we were rudely interrupted because she needed to get her photo taken, and then shoot her CBS interview (people with cameras always get priority, alas!). So we didn't... keep reading » » read the full story and comment, or find the latest news about Survivor Samoa
