Alan Pardew looks like he will finally be reunited with his former Newcastle United goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman – but only if Crystal Palace meet the Magpies’ compensation demands.
The Shields Gazette claim that Woodman, who was not present for Newcastle’s 2-1 loss to York City at Bootham Crescent on Wednesday, is likely to move to south London but Palace are unhappy with the fee they will need to pay for the coach.
Eric Steele could replace Woodman at Newcastle, but the Geordie is now the Football Association’s youth goalkeeping coach so Steve McClaren may not be able to tempt his former lieutenant to join up with him once more.

Interestingly, Andy Woodman’s son, Freddie, has also left Tyneside for Crawley Town on loan until January.

“Transition”. That has been the word used by most pundits to explain Manchester United’s disastrous slump in form this season.
Following the retirement of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson earlier this year, there was always going to be a period of change at the club, but you could be for forgiven for thinking it’s been more “upheaval” than “transition” since.
Not only has Ferguson gone, but so too has chief executive David Gill, assistant manager Mike Phelan, goalkeeping coach Eric Steele and all the rest of the old backroom staff that has helped deliver success down the years.
And this has hindered David Moyes, who replaced the irreplaceable Ferguson in July, and has had a truly torrid time of things ever since.
Whether it was the pitiful pre-season, inert transfer window or a series of performances that have seen the club make their worst ever...

The 2nd annual South Texas Underground Film Festival, running Oct. 3-6 in Corpus Christi, Texas, is a massive celebration of international alternative cinema, including plenty from Texas filmmakers, of course.
The fest opened on the 3rd with the drop-dead hilarious comedy Pictures of Superheroes by Austin filmmaker Don Swaynos.
But, there’s still plenty more to see throughout the jam-packed weekend wherein films screen from morning until, well, early into the next morning.
The film that’s absolutely not to be missed is the screening on the 6th at 10:30 a.m. of Savage Witches, the amazing celebration of the art of filmmaking by British directors Daniel Fawcett & Clara Pais. A colorful spectacle of multiple filmmaking styles, Savage Witches is a real joy to experience.
Also to be on the lookout for are on the 5th at 11:00 a.m. is the new rockin’ documentary Mondo Fuzz: Twilight of the...

A new era is dawning on Manchester United this summer.
For the first time in over quarter of a century, a new manager is at the helm following the retirement of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
And his successor, David Moyes, has wasted no time in stamping his own unique mark on the club, by bringing in a number of his old backroom staff at Everton and replacing those loyal to Ferguson.
No.2 Mike Phelan and goalkeeping coach Eric Steele have been replaced by Steve Round and Chris Woods, respectively, while chief executive David Gill has gone with Ed Woodward being named as his successor.
Moyes has demonstrated that he is not afraid to wield the axe if he feels changes are neccessary, just as Ferguson did.
If the famous, maybe infamous Scot thought your time was up at the club, then your time was up at the club.
And...

New Manchester United manager David Moyes has wasted no time in stamping his authority on the Premier League champions following his appointment as Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement.
After a summer of unprecedented upheaval at the Theatre of Dreams, which has seen the famous club name a new manager for the first time in over quarter of a century, the 50-year-old former Everton boss has already made the club his own.
Steve Round, Moyes’ former assistant manager at Goodison Park, has been named as the successor to Mike Phelan, while Everton’s goalkeeping coach Chris Woods has replaced Eric Steele.
Added to that, former Toffee’s skipper Phil Neville has followed Moyes on the journey from Merseyside to Manchester as a team coach.
Clearly, Moyes has his own ideas and his own way of going about matters.
Now that he is officially in charge – he took the reins at the...

With Sir Alex Ferguson finally departing from Manchester United this week after twenty seven years at the helm, the club is set to enter a new era – Everton manager David Moyes has been appointed on a six year contract to replace his fellow Scotsman and has already begun making waves, mutually terminating the contracts of several long-time members of the team’s coaching staff (including assistant manager Mike Phelan, goalkeeping coach Eric Steele and first team coach Rene Meulensteen) as he sets out to make his mark on one of the world’s most iconic football clubs.
It’s fair to assume that Moyes will soon begin to make changes on the pitch as well as off of it, with both player arrivals and departures likely. Given his track record at Everton it seems plausible that the Scotsman will continue to pursue Sir Alex’s strategy of promoting youth players,...

Another season of success has been and gone for Manchester United but now is the time to clear up the ticker tape and party streamers and begin planning for a season of transition and unprecedented change at Old Trafford.
For the first time in over quarter of a century, the Red Devils will have a new manager at the helm and ex-Everton chief David Moyes will be presented with a huge task as he begins his reign at one of Europe’s most famous of clubs.
He has already stamped his mark on proceedings by axing goalkeeping coach Eric Steele and Ferguson’s assistant Mike Phelan in favour of bringing in his own backroom staff and no doubt he will have grander plans still for the season ahead.
Players will come and go in a summer of great change and already there have been rumours as to who Moyes may...

Manchester United will replace David de Gea with an experienced international goalkeeper in the summer, and Sir Alex Ferguson has lined up Barcelona’s out of contract Victor Valdes, according to the Telegraph.
Ferguson is becoming increasingly impatient with de Gea after a string of high profile blunders such as failing to deal with Steven Gerrard’s shot in the build-up to Liverpool’s goal at Old Trafford two weeks ago coupled with his inability to deal with the cross which lead to Tottenham’s 90th minute equaliser at the weekend.
And the decision by Victor Valdes to reject a new contract at the Nou Camp has alerted Ferguson to the 31-year old experienced shot stopper.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are monitoring de Gea’s situation at Old Trafford, due to the persistent rumours suggesting the Spaniard is unhappy with life in Manchester. With his pop star girlfriend Edurne Garcia Almagro living in Madrid,...
