New thriller Apartment 4E landed on DVD this week, and when we saw that one of the film's leads, Nicole Beharie, also stars in the upcoming "Sleepy Hollow" TV series, we thought we'd pass on the info in case you're curious about her.

The indie horror thriller Apartment 4E releases today through One Village. This title received partial funding through a Kickstarter campaign in 2010. And, the film's premise is an interesting one, involving a desperate agoraphobe and a mysterious stranger. In the clip, the isolated woman turns violent, when a man enters her apartment. John (Christopher J. Domig) wants a way out, but handcuffs add to his problems. And, a suicidal woman might be the last of his worries. Apartment 4E is now available and horror fans can preview the film's official trailer below. Release Date: May 21st, 2013. Director/writer: Russell Leigh Sharman. First Details on Harbinger Down: “Award-winning Visual Effects artists Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff, Jr., co-founders of Studio Adi (Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc.) launched a campaign today for Harbinger Down. “In the spirit of sci-fi/horror classics, Alien and The Thing, Harbinger Down is a tense, claustrophobic full-length creature film that will feature only practical Animatronic and Makeup Effects,” announced Gillis, who will write and direct.
“Our company, Amalgamated Dynamics, will create the kind of Oscar caliber Creature Effects for which we are known,” commented Woodruff, who will produce along with Studio Adi’s Jennifer Tung. Lance Henriksen is set to star.

Edward Delaney recently wrote a provocative piece arguing that many documentary filmmakers are seduced into making their films feature-length, rather than making them the length that the narrative demands. But this problem is not restricted to documentary. As John Landis tells the story, the great director George Roy Hill once drunkenly gave him great advice about editing: “You need to take your film, shake it and everything that falls on the floor, you leave.”
The problem for most filmmakers, especially in their first films, is that they love their film too much to give them a great shake...
