The topic was social attitudes toward sexual identity.
That none-too-subtle message was woven throughout NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 Episode 14.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Of course, the episode directed by Daniela Ruah took a while to get to that point. It began simply as an investigation of a sailor's mysterious death.
It was amusing that the Osp was tasked with that mission because Lucy Tara, the Allegiance's former agent afloat, had returned to her post on NCIS: Hawaii.
This circumstance meant that the L.A. office would tackle the question of why three sailors had committed suicide on the Allegiance in recent months.
Kilbride seemed to take this spate of suicides personally. It sounded like something he had dealt with before during his lengthy career.
What wasn't evident was why Kensi felt the need to tear into Chief Adebayo, the dead sailor's supervising officer.

Lilly Singh will star in a new animated musical short film — centering on the theme of LGBTQ pride — from Pocket.watch, part of the digital kids’ content studio’s expansive 2021 slate.
In “Lilly Singh’s Proud Princess,” the YouTuber and host of NBC’s “A Little Late with Lilly Singh” will voice a young girl discovering pride in her true identity. The film is currently in pre-production.
“She’s an amazing talent and represents an example of the diverse points of view we are bringing to our audience,” Pocket.watch chief content officer Albie Hecht said. The film “will speak to LGBTQ identity issues for kids. Lilly will be an eloquent and articulate spokesperson for that.”
Singh, the actor and comedian who rose to fame on YouTube, two years ago announced on social media that she is bisexual, female and “coloured.” “Throughout my life these have proven to be obstacles from time to time.

YouTube has canceled “Escape the Night” after four seasons, ending its longest-running original series, Variety has confirmed. The semi-scripted murder-mystery series was hosted by Joey Graceffa, who presided over the retro mega-collab in which a famous YouTuber got killed off in each episode.
But Graceffa isn’t letting “Escape the Night” fade to black.
In a video posted Tuesday, he said Season 5 of the show was not happening “this year” but he left the door open for the series to return (which would be under different auspices now that YouTube has dropped it). “I don’t know when there will be a Season 5,” Graceffa said, saying it was unable to go forward because Covid-19 production shutdowns.
Graceffa didn’t say that “Escape the Night” was canceled. However, a source tells Variety that YouTube declined to pick up “Etn” Season 5.

This year’s Streamy Awards, co-produced by Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter, are set to ditch the traditional singular host format, in favor of a faction of creators who will head up this year’s ceremony as so-called "collaborators.”
Past Streamys have featured The Try Guys, Jon Cozart, King Bach, Grace Helbig, Tyler Oakley, and Hannah Hart as masters of ceremonies. Instead, this year’s show will feature a number of creator-led segments that the Streamys says serve to emphasize the diversity of the space, including Emma Chamberlain, Mr. Kate, Rosanna Pansino, Mark Rober, Brandon Rogers, Patrick Starrr, and Hannah Stocking. All told, these collaborators count more than 100 million followers across multiple verticals including beauty, comedy, food, and education.

Pansino, who counts 11.3 million subscribers, shared updates with her followers on Twitter and Instagram, where she first noted last weekend that she was headed to urgent care after having had a fever of 101.4 and experiencing intense pain that didn’t seem to be improving.
After being promptly sent to the ER for tests and scans -- including a Ct scan and a spinal tap -- Cedars Sinai immediately initiated treatment for “a major internal infection.” Pansino added, “They also performed a spinal tap (draining spinal fluid) as I had all the symptoms of life-threatening issues...I’m on bedrest all week to recover and allow the internal swelling to go down.”

Veteran actor Richard Kind dove into the convoluted world of memes and YouTube stardom in his first assignment as “Senior Youth Correspondent” for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
In a pre-taped segment, Kind explored VidCon, an annual gathering of YouTube stars and social media influencers. His report got off to a rousing, age-appropriate start as he scolded a group of kids for playing in a germ-infested ball pit. Kind then tried to figure out what it takes to go viral and found himself coerced into both the cinnamon challenge and learning how to floss.

The new episodes of Graceffa's show place him in a small town during the 1970s, where he and his cohorts must solve a classic whodunit caper. The ensemble cast will be dressed to the nines in period-appropriate garb; featured players will include Graceffa, Matthew Patrick, Rosanna Pansino, Jc Caylen, Colleen Ballinger, Teala Dunn, Manny Mua, Safiya Nygaard, Guava Juice, and Nikita Dragun.
If you've caught our previous coverage of YouTube Premium shows, you know the deal by now: The first episode of Escape The Night season three is free, but accessing the others requires a $11.99-per-month YouTube Premium subscription. For the third time in as many years, a gaggle of top YouTube stars will have to Escape The Night. A trailer has arrived for the third season of Joey Graceffa's murder-mystery-comedy-period piece, which this time will be set among the jaunty ascots and polyester fabrics of the 70s.
The first season of Escape The Night, which premiered in 2016 and ultimately snagged a Streamy Award for its ensemble cast, took place during the Jazz Age. For season two, Graceffa and co traded that environment for a more Victorian vibe. Now, in season three, which was announced in late May, the setting is the 70s. The cast, revealed on May 31, will have to solve a whodunit caper in a small town. Featured players will include Graceffa, Matthew Patrick, Rosanna Pansino, Jc Caylen, Colleen Ballinger, Teala Dunn, Manny Mua, Safiya Nygaard, Guava Juice, and Nikita Dragun, all of whom have millions...

Are TV stars — or, at any rate, people who have appeared on television — more reliable magnets for digital audiences than internet-native creators?
Kin Community was founded in 2011 as a specialized YouTube multichannel network aimed at young female audiences, aggregating content from creators like Rosanna Pansino (of Nerdy Nummies), Hannah Hart (MyHarto), Jenn Im (Clothes Encounters), and Lauren Riihimaki (LaurDIY).
Now the L.A.-based entertainment company is shifting gears: Kin is focused on producing its own programming geared around recognizable “mainstream” talent from TV, de-emphasizing its original mini-McN approach.
The change in strategy is based on the success Kin has found from Tia Mowry’s “Quick Fix,” which launched last fall as a weekly show offering up tips and life hacks for moms. The show from Mowry, best known for her starring role in ’90s sitcom “Sister, Sister,” built a viewership that has outstripped many cable TV shows — and...

So you're heading to the theater to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but you need a snack. Why not try this simple recipe for some of Rey's portion bread courtesy of Rosanna Pansino? Judging from her face above, it's good enough to make you do a creepy Jabba The Hutt'esque looking smile, which in my opinion is pretty damn good. Check out how to make it below, and if you do, let us know how it went in the comments.
