The current edition of Fox’s popular dance reality contest “So You Think You Can Dance” has somewhat of a different vibe for its 16th season. For one, the show doesn’t have to send the four judges around the country to watch auditions anymore. They can be far more relaxed now the contestants try out for the Academy on a snazzy new Sytycd stage based in Hollywood. There also have been more pairs vying to get a golden ticket to the Academy and not just the ballroom dancers.

So You Think You Can Dance fans, I have a dilemma.
For much of Wednesday’s Top 10 performance show — which paired each finalist with an All-Star dancer from seasons past — I couldn’t quite decide whether the Top 10 were put at an advantage or disadvantage by dancing with Sytycd vets.
Take, for example, what I considered tonight’s most entertaining routine: a fun hip-hop number between Jessica Richens and her All-Star companion, Twitch. On her own, Jessica did an excellent job with the fast-paced routine (and started to break away from the idea that she can only excel at jazz...

My favorite guest judge kept me in stitches all night but make no mistake he’s truly in love with all the dancers and the show. Starting the show off with a bang was a hip-hop number choreographed by Luther Brown. Luther was a judge and choreographer on the Canadian version of Sytycd and currently works with Nikki Minaj. It was great to have Luther on the show because I miss my...
