Digital-first studios Gunpowder & Sky and Supergravity Pictures are teaming together on a feature-length thriller about a small-town skate crew whose obsession with becoming Internet-famous leads to unrelenting horror, the companies announced today. This marks the first co-production between the two studios, though Gunpowder & Sky was an early investor in Supergravity. A release date has yet to be announced.

Popular in the 1960s and early 1970s with more rare appearances in the 1980s, 1990s and the 2000s, the anthology-style horror film has made a solid resurgence in recent years with such portmanteau releases as The ABCs of Death films and the V/H/S series.
With Mexico Barbaro, Fear Paris and other projects in various stages of completion, the anthology horror film looks to continue to be an important part of the horror cinema landscape.
Some anthology films employ a framing or wraparound sequence in an attempt to connect the segments that make up the film while others dispense with this classic Amicus-style approach entirely and simply present a collection of short films connected by genre.
Either way, a horror anthology film is ultimately about the quality of its individual segments and this article will take you on a tour of the greatest horror anthology segments of all time.

One of the highlights of Fantastic Fest 2014 was Drafthouse Films' own anthology horror sequel ABCs of Death 2. The Golden Briefcase hosts Tim and Jeremy had a chance to sit down with two of the filmmakers in the anthology (of the letter 'V') to discuss their segment further during Fantastic Fest. It's a bit late, but here's the interview. Director Jerome Sable + writer/producer Nicholas Musurca are the minds behind 'V is for Vacation' (see our first look). The guys talk about the thought process behind the approach to their short and talk about some of the takeaways from viewing the first film that helped guide their segment. These two guys, Jerome Sable and Nicholas Musurca, are also the filmmakers responsible for the wonderful horror short The Legend of Beaver Dam (it's so good - watch it online here) and they speak to balancing tone within context of the...

The newest horror musical Stage Fright (review) is poised for release, and we have the scoop! Starring Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf, this retro slasher is a great throwback for fans of Phantom of the Opera and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Dread Central: I don't know if you remember me, but I was a huge supporter of your short film, The Legend of Beaver Dam. I love it so much! So I am wondering... when you got the backing to make a feature horror musical, why not go with expanding on The Legend of Beaver Dam?
Jerome Sable: Even though we made The Legend of Beaver Dam first, the idea for Stage Fright actually preceded it. Batalion and I knew we wanted to do a slasher film at a musical theatre camp, but we realized we would probably need to make a short film first, before anyone would back an entire feature.
