Megan Harmon is a Southern California native who was
first introduced to photography by her father Randy, a photography
enthusiast who purchased a Canon AE-1 for Megan, which was her first
manual camera. Her fascination became passion in the Torrance High
School dark room; she has rarely seen sunlight since. She also
graduated from Torrance High School with a particular interest in
horror films, after the genre was forced upon her by Infested Film's
F/X artist Scott Dawson and editor Tyson Gilmore during the making of
Tyson's senior project at Torrance High, "The Torrance Sledgehammer
Massacre".
Since high school Megan has continued her pursuit of a career in photography, attending courses at El Camino College, Santa Monica College, and even traveling as far as the Photographic Center Northwest in Seattle, Washington to pursue her education.
Megan's first experience as an on-set photographer was on Infested Films' own David Sherbrook's first short "It'll Clear Up By Morning" in 2006. Ever since, Megan has been an integral team member at Infested Films, working on projects for director Patrick Merrick on his short films "Sallow Creatures" and "Alice Ascends" in 2008. Megan also used her keen artistic eye to capture stills on the short film "Darkness of the Night" for "Black Devil Doll" director Jonathan Lewis.
With the official formation of Infested Films in 2009, Megan took all the still photographs on the sequel to "It'll Clear Up By Morning", David Sherbrook's new body horror gore-fest "The Morning After" and most recently photographed Lloyd Kaufman as he guest-starred in the supernatural thriller "Theodore".
As Infested Films began work on their short "Freddie and the Goblins" for inclusion into "The Black Box" anthology film, Megan documented the process as she typically does. She did on-set still photos for the segments Freddie and the Goblins, Wax Off, Mister Video and The Black Box wraparound segments in addition to assisting with the special f/x for each segment.
