- After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2001, James moved back to his home town of Detroit where he started a career as a commercial editor working for top post houses and ad agencies while working nights and weekends on his first feature documentary, "It Came From Detroit" about the exploding "garage rock" scene at the time. After the film was released in 2009, he moved to Los Angeles where he has continued his editing and directing career working for clients such as Apple, Google, Samsung, Honda, and Hasbro.
