Former East Africa correspondent for ENCA and E News Africa joined CNN's global network as host of award winning series "Inside Africa" from 2014-2015.
Methu joined CNN International from ENCA and E News Africa, where she was East Africa correspondent for two years, reporting from hot spots Mombasa and Nairobi, including covering the Westgate Mall terrorist attack. During her career with ENCA she also reported from Somalia, South Sudan, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania, and was central to breaking key stories for the channel. She attended Strathmore University And began her career at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. Methu was working as a reporter at CGTN, a Chinese-owned news network, at the time of her sudden death at the age of 34 in April of 2019.
