The most beloved series about firefighters right now is undoubtedly Chicago Fire – each episode is an exciting drama about selfless people. The unpredictability of the plot twists and the high level of drama have contributed a great deal to the popularity of the show.
On Chicago Fire, the stakes are high – anyone, even the main fan favorite, can die. And one such death is still haunting fans.
Otis' Death in Chicago Fire Season 7
Otis Zvonecek was one of the most beloved characters on Chicago Fire – the members of Firehouse 51 treated him like a little brother, and Otis always put a positive spin on even the most difficult and risky situations.
In Season 6, Otis began dating Lily, the daughter of the man who sold him the bar the firefighter called Molly's North, and their duo melted the hearts of many viewers. The fans wished the couple a happy ever after, but...

Unfortunately for all Chicago Fire viewers, the show's cast has undergone quite a few changes since season 1. A good half of the original characters introduced in the show's pilot have been let go.
And while some of them, like Gabriela Dawson, have been peacefully written off and sent overseas, others, like Leslie Shay and Otis Zvonecek, have met darker ends.
While NBC's firefighter hit isn't known for being as gruesome as Grey's Anatomy when it comes to killing off characters, both Shay and Otis' deaths left a big impression on viewers. While Lauren German, who portrayed Shay, almost immediately moved on to Fox's supernatural hit Lucifer, Yuriy Sardarov, who portrayed Otis, has been a bit more reserved.
Yuriy Sardarov After Chicago Fire
As tragic and traumatic as Sardarov's farewell to Otis was for fans, the actor continued to build his acting career.

Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to “Daddy,” a sci-fi film that will be released in 2024.
The news comes as Anchor Bay is being relaunched after Umbrelic Entertainment chiefs Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz bought the company’s trademark. Anchor Bay was included in Starz’s 2016 sale to Lionsgate. Under Zambeck and Katz, Anchor Bay is looking to release genre films and cult favorites.
In the case of “Daddy,” the movie was co-written and co-directed by Neal Kelley and Jono Sherman in their feature debut. It stars Yuriy Sardarov (“Chicago Fire”), Jacqueline Toboni (“The L Word: Generation Q”), Pomme Koch (“WeCrashed“) and Britt Baron (“Glow”).
The film is set in a dystopian society where the state has the power to determine who can and cannot father children. Four men attend a government-mandated retreat in the remote mountains of California. When they arrive, there’s no guide or instructions waiting for them.

It's nearly impossible to be a fan of procedural television without watching a series produced by Dick Wolf. He created an enduring hit with the "Law & Order" universe in the 1990s and continued his reign with his "One Chicago" universe. In 2012, Wolf took fans from New York to the Windy City with a franchise that follows law enforcement officers, firefighters, and medical personnel. The franchise's flagship series, "Chicago Fire," is among the best procedural shows of the last ten years due to its quality storylines and lovable characters.
The men and women of Firehouse 51 share a unique bond that transcends mere professional relationships. Week after week, the series brings them into some of the most dangerous situations imaginable, and survival is never guaranteed. This show is the most reliably well-written part of the "One Chicago" franchise. Still, every great series has its low points. Some seasons are memorable from beginning to end,...

And with that, we have the potential for a The Rookie spinoff!
"Simone" was the first installment of a two-episode event that has The Rookie Season 4 Episode 19 serving as a backdoor pilot for the Niecy Nash-Betts led FBI spinoff. And it certainly kicked things off with a bang.
We spent much of the hour getting to know Simone Clark. So, how do you feel about her? Would you tune in to a series devoted to her obstacles as a near-50-year-old FBI trainee with an alternative style?
As a backdoor pilot, they balanced things well. We spent a significant amount of time with Simone and got to know her rather well, and because of the "all hands on deck" approach to the case, nearly all the other characters were involved.
As a result, it didn't feel as if this newcomer dominated everything and shoved the characters with whom we're most familiar to the side,...

Exclusive: Miranda Rae Mayo is reteaming with her former Chicago Fire co-star Yuriy Sardarov on Daddy, a dark comedy written and directed by Neal Kelley and Jono Sherman, which will enter production in Topanga Canyon next week.
The film is set in a dystopian society where the state has the power to determine who can and cannot father children, watching as four men attend a government sanctioned retreat in the remote mountains of California. Dancing With The Stars couple Kate Flannery and Pasha Pashkov were joined by Pasha’s wife Daniella Karagach to show off their moves. Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of Wednesday night’s Season 8 premiere of Chicago Fire.
Last night’s Season 8 premiere of NBC’s Chicago Fire sadly answered a lingering question following the cliffhanger ending of season 7. A huge factory fire left the fates of the Chicago Fire crew unknown, and in last night’s “Sacred Ground” episode, it was revealed that firefighter Brian “Otis” Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov) did not make it out alive.
Sardarov addressed his exit and said farewell to his beloved character in a post on Twitter.
“A fond farewell to Otis, he’ll forever be my friend,” Sardarov wrote. “And to all of you that knew him and loved him to the end, he had a bushy mustache and a soul patch to boot. It’s never really over, he’ll always love you too.”
The fire that took Otis’ life began in an equipment explosion at the factory.

Fresh off their wedding earlier this month, Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood teamed up with Jane Lynch, Kate Flannery, Wayne Brady and more Saturday night to help raise money for low-income immigrants.
The star-studded group, which also included Yuri Sardarov, Gina Torres, Grant Gustin, and Caroline Rhea, were all on hand Saturday night for a host of musical and comedic performances and speeches at Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley’s Concert for America at UCLA’s Royce Hall, with all proceeds benefiting the National Immigration Law Center.
“It’s such an important cause and it’s something that deserves attention,” Wood told reporters. “Anytime we as artists can lend whatever abilities we do have, or at least interests we have to do something that’s impactful, I think it’s necessary and something we should do.”

In a Gold Derby exclusive, we have learned the category placements of the key Emmy Awards contenders for Universal Television. For this season, the company has many programs for NBC and a few they produce for other networks. They include previous nominees “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Andy Samberg), “The Good Place”, “Saturday Night Live,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” (Ellie Kemper) and “Will and Grace” plus new contenders “New Amsterdam” (Ryan Eggold) and “Russian Doll” (Natasha Lyonne) as part of their 2019 campaign.
Below, the list of Universal lead, supporting and guest submissions for their comedies and dramas. Exclusive: When NBC in late February renewed all three Chicago series for next season, the flagship Chicago Fire was picked up for an eighth season without its stars, Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney, whose current contracts were up at the end of this season.
At the time, the duo already was in negotiations with Chicago producers Wolf Entertainment and Universal TV about new pacts, and I’ve learned that they have closed new two-year deals to continue on the firefighter drama.
As Chicago Fire‘s leading men, Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney had received salary bumps in a renegotiation early on, adding a year to their original six-year contracts. The deals for the three other original cast members, Eamonn Walker, Monica Raymund and David Eigenberg — expired at the end of Season 6 last spring. Raymund opted to move on, while Walker and Eigenberg entered new two-year contracts that go through the upcoming eighth season.
Three other Chicago Fire cast members, Christian Stolte, Joe Minoso, and Yuri Sardarov, who started as recurring in Season 1 before becoming regulars in Season 2, had their deals coming up at the end of Season 7. I hear all three have been locked in for next season.
Chicago Fire’s cast also includes Kara Killmer, Miranda Rae Mayo and Annie Ilonzeh, all of whom joined as series regulars later and are all under contracts for one or more seasons.
Chicago Fire looks into the lives of the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51 who risk their lives week in and week out to save and protect the citizens of their city.
Spencer plays Captain Matthew Casey, Truck Company 81. Kinney portrays Lieutenant Kelly Severide, Rescue Squad 3.
Sardarov is Firefighter Brian “Otis” Zvonecek, Truck 81; Minoso is Firefighter/Chauffeur Joe Cruz, Squad 3; Stolte is Firefighter Randall “Mouch” McHolland, Truck 81.
The new pact will extend Spencer’s continuous tenure as a series regular on a hit broadcast series to 16 and possibly 17 years, 8 on Fox’s House and the rest on Chicago Fire. He is repped by Wme and Stone Genow. The Vampire Diaries alum Kinney is repped by Gersh and Principal La.
