A Las Vegas church that’s tried to redirect some of Sin City’s glitzy brilliance to illuminate one of its darker corners—its robust sex trade—has filed for bankruptcy protection.
Pastors of the Church at South Las Vegas, which sought Chapter 11 protection Friday, put some of the megachurch’s money toward transitional housing for ex-prostitutes struggling to escape the dangerous industry with the help of Hookers for Jesus—a name that’s about as subtle as Las Vegas itself.
