The head of the Vc firm that invested several hundred million dollars in A24 a year ago says the indie producer-distributor’s “extraordinary” momentum could lead to a large international business and potential acquisitions.
As is their wont, A24 executives are not talking publicly, but Stripes partner Ken Fox did speak with Deadline soon after the studio’s record-setting Oscar haul, highlighted by Everything Everywhere All at Once. The company’s nine wins included Best Picture, Best Director and all four acting categories (counting Brendan Fraser’s triumph as lead actor in The Whale).

Exclusive: Charles Finch (Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love) is as English as they come, but Hollywood runs through his veins. Having written movies, produced a few, directed three; managed movie stars and built brands, and published high-end cultural magazines, he decided “smack in the middle of Covid, in my late fifties,” that he wanted to go back to making movies.
He has set up a small film company that he calls Standalone. Finch has a relationship with Columbia Pictures and he’ll formally announce a development deal with that studio next month. The entrepreneur also has a project with Netflix.
Finch told us that he has a slate of some 15 to 20 projects. Included in his group of filmmaking collaborators are directors Josie Rourke (Mary Queen of Scots), Tom Hooper (Les Miserables), Marina Zenovich (Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind), Simon Curtis (Downton Abbey: A New Era), and Florian Zeller (The Father...

There isn’t an official calendar, but for most people, Coachella marks the start of festival season and the kickoff to six months of music, art and dancing that spans multiple genres, artists and locations.
This year’s Coachella lineup features headliners Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala, along with performers like Solange, Khalid, Janelle Monae and K-pop sensations, Blackpink.

You know what happens when you are filthy rich? Well, you have the luxury of affording some bizarre beauty products that us mere mortals have never even heard of — right, Hailey? The 21-year-old model revealed that her face cream of choice cost a whopping $1,400, and is infused with her own blood. Yep, you read that right. Hailey Baldwin credits her glow to dermatologist Barbara Sturm’s moisturizer. In an interview with PopSugar, she revealed that when she is traveling, she is always moisturizing. “I love that weird blood cream," Hailey said. “It is fascinating to me, and it works. I’m a nerd about the science of skin care and health, so for me, I’m like, ‘This is cool!’” (Photo Credit: Getty Images) The serum requires an in-person doctor’s visit with the doctor herself. This is so she can separate out the plasma in the blood, incubate it...
