- John Wesley was born in June 1962 in Brandon, Florida, USA.
- Touring guitarist and backing singer for the British band Porcupine Tree since 2002. He was offered the job by the band's leader Steven Wilson, whom he'd met in 1999 during a special convention gig by the Scottish artist Fish. Wesley also contributed additional guitars and backing vocals to Porcupine Tree's album "In Absentia" and backing vocals to "Fear Of A Blank Planet".
- In mid-'90s, John Wesley used to be a roadie and then later warm-up act for the British progressive rock band Marillion. In 1999 he became the guitarist in Fish's band. Fish was Marillion's lead singer in the '80s. Wesley co-wrote the 2001 Fish album "Fellini Days" and played guitar on it.
