The new Malayalam web series is directed by Mridul Nair and produced by Dr Leena S. Mridul has written the series with J Ramakrishna Kulur. The trailer shows a man (Sabumon) announcing a grand festival at the local temple and the villagers suggesting ideas for cultural programmes, including a dance by actor Shobana. The one-liners and music that follow suggest a comic series.

Ten years later, Archana is in a Kochi apartment, wearing the clothes she might wear in her Delhi home, looking confused about a brother who has suddenly barged into her peaceful life. She is playing the elder sibling in a brother-sister comedy-drama, that she wrote as a web series. “I know this is something everybody says but we really didn’t expect it to become so popular,” Archana says on a call from Delhi, a week after the series – Meenaviyal – went online.

Thiruvananthapuram, March 14: The Kerala Film Chamber has decided to ban actress Rima Kallingal's films because she is doing a TV show for a Malayalam channel, disregarding a recent notice of the chamber.
A warning was given recently by the chamber to mainstream stars who are involved with reality shows on TV channels.
Besides Rima, the list includes Siddique, Archana Kavi, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Kaniha.
All the others, except Rima, replied to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (Amma) and the Kerala Film Chamber, and therefore the chamber has decided to take strong action against her.
