Ajay Devgn’s leading ladies: that Southern twist. (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Is it due to the fact that his first-ever co-star was Madhoo, a South Indian but
Mumbai-based actress, in Phool Aur Kaante (they co-starred again in Diljale)? Whatever the reason, Ajay Devgn has a predilection for South Indian heroines! Let us also not forget Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, for whom Ajay, along with Salman Khan, was her breakthrough hero in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. They later also did Khakee and Raincoat together.
The past list also includes the North Indian actresses who started out down South —
Kajal Aggarwal (Singham), Ileana D’Cruz (Raid), who did 18 films down South before her Hindi debut, Tamannaah Bhatia (Himmatwala) and Rakul Preet Singh (De De Pyaar De). And of course we have had Rambha (Jung) and Asin(London Dreams, Bol Bachchan).

TollywoodThe film has some sparkling moments but ends up disappointing.Krishna SripadaSome movies, you walk out of the hall cursing the filmmakers. Some movies you walk out of the hall agonizing. With Hello Guru Prema Kosame, Trinadha Rao and Dil Raju almost pulled off a good romantic entertainer. Almost. And when it comes to art, the gap between almost and ‘has’ can be massive, as the movie demonstrates. To say that Hello Guru Prema Kosame was a colossal bore would be unfair. It has some sparkling moments, as you would have come to expect from Dil Raju movies. A father (Prakash Raj) wants to give his daughter the best she deserves and hence, stereotypically fixes up her match with a ‘good guy’ he has been observing for two years – that’s not new. But, the movie carefully blends such a father’s character with a different angle. The same person...

According to the rumors that are doing rounds, the actor was severely criticized by veteran actor Prakash Raj, who is playing a pivotal role, on the sets for her acting skills that she fainted. However, the film’s director Nakkina Trinadha Rao has a different story to tell. He told the media that Anupama appeared ill right from the beginning of the day and did not want to go on a rest despite being given an opportunity. The actor was working hard all day that led to the unfortunate incident. He added that it was a case of food poisoning and the actor went in for a doctor’s consultation which hardly took her 10 minutes. The whole incident appears to have been blown out of proportion. The director has been quoted by the Deccan Chronicle as saying, “Senior actors are always advising the younger actors on the sets to improvise and it’s a common thing. In this particular scene too, Prakash Raj wanted to improvise the scene and advised her accordingly. Perhaps she may have felt hurt because of that. But it’s not a big issue.” On the shooting being cancelled on account of this, the director added, “The shooting was not cancelled because of this, but we had Prakash Raj’s dates only till that day, which is why there was no shoot the next day. We later continued and both are acting together.” With Anupama posting a selfie of herself with Prakash Raj, it is evident that the two have made up and all is well with the team.
