- Jolin Tsai was born on September 15, 1980 in Hsinchuang, Taiwan, and she is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and businesswoman. She began her singing career by winning a television singing competition produced by MTV Mandarin in 1998, and in the next year she released her debut album. The Queen of C-Pop who never stops reinventing herself, she is a seven-time Golden Melody Award-winner who has sold over twenty-five million records in Asia. Her acting career, however, is another story. In 2001, she made her acting debut as a guest appearance in the TV series, Six Friends. She followed it with guest appearances in two other TV series: Come to My Place (2002) and In Love (2002). Moreover, she scored a minor cult hit with the TV series, Hi Working Girl (2003), starring alongside Taiwanese actor Show Lo. In 2007, she played the title role in the film, Agent J (2007), to further promote her album under the same title.
