UNESCO Youth Representative (2021), TEDx Speaker, UConn NAACP Image Awards - Staff of the Year (2020), El Instituto's Pre-Doctoral Fellow, Tinker Foundation Fellow, and Rio Olympics Torch Bearer.
I have nearly ten years of human rights advocacy through education, helping amplify community storytelling efforts through Globo TV, TEDx, UNESCO, and the University of Connecticut. I was born in Brazil's Favela of Maré, and Paraty, a traditional community, raised me. I started my career through Flip (Festa Literaria Internacional de Paraty), Brazil's largest literature festival, in 2006. I was an educator and community organizer who turned into a filmmaker who became a researcher who currently collaborates with Latin American youth researchers based in communities at UNESCO Heritage Sites. My grassroots foundation gives me the space to contribute to underrepresented communities in the United States in different capacities, from radical community efforts such as the CTUndocuFund to serving as UConn's Diversity and Inclusion Program Specialist, despite numerous institutional challenges.
