The San Diego Comic Con has been taken over by the movie industry to the point where we often forget what it's really about: comic books and animation. Thousands of artists offer glimpses of their work in the hopes of reaching a broader audience and breaking into the mainstream. Lovely actress and friend to Latino Review Paula Garces, who has her own legion of fans as “Maria” from the “Harold and Kumar” films, has informed us of her collaboration with her husband Antonio Hernandez to create the comic book Aluna.While producing a show on the Mun2 television network called Mun2 Look, her research led to the question of why there aren't any Latino superheroes in the comic book world. “Not to our surprise there was a recent study just done that asked that very question. In that study it not only mentioned Latino's but female and indigenous people as well.
