- Al Sears was born on February 21, 1910 in Macomb, Illinois, USA. He was an actor and producer, known for Mr. Buzzkill (2022), Adventures in Jazz (1949) and Rock 'N' Roll Revue (1957). He died on March 23, 1990 in New York City, New York, USA.
- Tenor saxophonist and songwriter/composer. Played in the orchestras of Andy Kirk and Lionel Hampton, 1941-44. Replaced Ben Webster in Duke Ellington's band in 1944. After 1949, ran his own music publishing business in partnership with Budd Johnson. Later changed to R&B, performing as 'Big Al Sears'.
