The Latin Grammy Awards took place on Thursday, Nov. 19 awarding the year’s top artists in Latin music. Featuring mostly video acceptances and a limited red carpet, performers did take the stage and wowed. Among the highlights: J Balvin (pictured) performing “Rojo” under a sculpture of two hands coming together (the piece weighed 2.6 tons and required two trucks to transport); Karol G delivering “Tusa” backed by al all-female band; Sebastián Yatra, joined by Guaynaa, performing “Chica Ideal” and Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds”; Bad Bunny beamed in from San Juan, Puerto Rico to sing “Bichiyal” and “Si Veo A Tu Mamá”; and Anitta putting her spin on Sergio Mendes’ “Mas Que Nada” from her home city of Río de Janeiro, followed by her own “Me Gusta.”

The Latin Recording Academy has announced more performances for the 20th annual Latin Grammy Awards, to air live on November 14th from Las Vegas.
Rosalía, Alejandro Sanz, Anitta and Luis Fonsi are among the nominees that will perform at this year’s ceremony. Also announced on Tuesday were Aitana, Pedro Capó, Julio Reyes Copello, Darell, Dimelo Flow, Fonseca, Greeicy, Intocable, Nella and Reik, as well as non-nominees Pepe Aguilar and Los Ángeles Azules.

Online music video joint venture Vevo on Tuesday launched a standalone service in Brazil. The popular music platform is also already available in the U.S., where it launched in Dec. 2009, Canada, the United Kingdom, as well as Australia and New Zealand, where it launched earlier this year. The launch will bring 50,000 high-definition music videos from international and local stars to the Brazilian market.
