“The Challenge XXX” star Jemmye Carroll is opening up about her return to the MTV competition show following ex-boyfriend Ryan Knight’s death at age 29 from an accidental overdose in November 2014. An exclusive sneak peek from Tuesday’s episode shows Carroll telling Cory Wharton that she has mixed emotions about returning to the fray. She met Knight on “The Real World: New Orleans,” which aired in 2010, and they dated after filming ended, although they had split up prior to his passing. “Just after Knight died, I didn’t feel right coming back, you know?” Carroll says in the clip about her.

Ryan Knight's final moments on The Challenge were characteristic of his right-here-right-now lifestyle: a sudden departure after a volatile series of events that demanded full attention and yet somehow imparted a sense of business unfinished.
Indeed, Knight's own life was unfinished. Two months after his unexpected death on Nov. 27, MTV aired a special Challenge after show early Wednesday that featured a touching memorial to the five years Knight, 28, spent in front of the camera, starting with 2010's The Real World: New Orleans.
During the tribute, Knight's castmates alternated between bursts of laughter and choked-back tears, none more so than Jemmye Carroll.

Fans of Diem Brown knew her last moments on The Challenge would be heart-wrenching. They also knew Brown would not leave the show without her signature strength and passion.
Tuesday's episode of Battle of the Exes 2 saw Brown, 34, sidelined by the excruciating pain she would later learn was colon cancer. After an overnight stay, the pain returned, forcing her to be medically evacuated from the competition.
Accompanying shots of her flight from Panama to New York City, where she underwent surgery and months of treatment before dying on Nov. 14, Brown began her final words on the show: "I'm at a...

Ryan Knight, who appeared on MTV's The Real World: New Orleans in 2010 and The Challenge in 2013 died at the age of 29. The network announced on Thursday, "The Real World family has lost another member."
It was the second death of a Challenge cast member in November.
Ryan's girlfriend, Makenzie Jauer, then shared this heartbreaking post on Instagram, calling Ryan her "sweet angel."
I love you Ryan Knight. I am heartbroken, confused, hurt and most of all mad. The pain I am feeling now will never go away. You mean more to me than you will ever know & I never thought that I would spend a day without you. Every second with you was full of love and laughter. You were the brightest light in every room. You taught me not to care about what other people think and you made me understand that being myself was okay. Thank you for being inappropriate at the worst of times...

MTV is doing a blessed thing. With "RetroMTV," the network will be replaying three of the finest seasons of The Real World starting this Friday and continuing throughout Sunday, including the first New York season, the San Francisco season with Pedro Zamora, and the first Las Vegas season with Trishelle Cannatella. I hope that sentence filled you with the adrenaline of a thousand jars of stolen peanut butter, because I'm tweaking over here.
It's all in anticipation for The Real World: Portland, which begins March 27.
This happy occasion proves the opportunity for another: Let's create a Real World supergroup, an ideal cast composed of seven of the best housemates in the show's history. I'm basing my picks on the cast archetypes that are most important to me, but if you come up with your own casts in the comments, feel free to change the categories to your liking.

"The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons" is the new season of the long-running competition series on MTV. With "Road Rules" long gone, it's all "The Real World" alumnae -- save for one group from "Fresh Meat" and "Spring Break" challenges -- and this season pits cast-members from various seasons against one another in groups of four.
To make things especially awkward for the team from "The Real World: Austin," Danny Jamieson and Melinda Stolp. met on the show, got married and then got divorced. And now they're back, having to work together toward the $250,000 cash prize. Another showmance that got real, and then fizzled, created tension for "The Real World: Back to New Orleans" cast, with Ryan Knight and Jemmye Carroll.
It's going to be even tougher for Danny and Melinda going forward, as the other half of their team -- Lacey Buehler and Wes Bergmann -- found themselves...

I can't be the only one Beyond excited for the new season of MTV's The Challenge. Not only is the cast for Battle of the Seasons insane, they are all relatively new to challenges. As much as I love seeing Johnny act like an asshole every year and Kenny make fun of all the girls for being on crazy pills, I'm ready for some new drama.
We do still have a few Challenge vets (Wes, Sarah, Alton, Dunbar, Trishelle, etc), but I think we've got a great mix of new and old. And let's face it, there are so many exes here, it's bound to get really crazy. Hell, Danny and Melinda used to be married!
Below, we give each of the castmembers a superlative based on the promo and things they've done in the past. We also predict who willl make it to the final challenge. Comment and let us know what you think!

It's that time again! As The Real World: St. Thomas winds down, it's time to get excited for yet another installment of The Challenge! And this time, MTV is going all out by pitting some of the craziest season casts against one another in The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons!
With $250,000 on the line, the cast heads to Turkey where they will compete with their former housemates and live in one of the craziest environments we've ever seen. As you will see in the promo, Danny and Melinda are now divorced and on the same team. We've got my personal fave exes Jemmye and Knight on the same team. We've got more hookups and fights than ever. It's just pure insanity.

The Real World New Orleans 2 cast members Jemmye Carroll and Ryan Knight did not show up for their court date on Wednesday after being arrested last weekend in Florida. The Bay County Courthouse clerk told Radar, "Warrants will be issued and they'll both lose their bond" for not appearing when they were supposed to. Radar also published the original police report, which says they were trying to enter a condominium complex called The Summit.

Two cast members from The Real World New Orleans, the 2010 season, were arrested in Panama City Beach and subsquently attacked cops and others on Twitter, and one of them, Jemmye Carroll, threatened someone who allegedly punched her with death. While they did not smear their own feces on cell walls, that post-arrest reaction on Twitter is similar to Abram Boise's arrest last month, when he bragged about his actions online. Jemmye and Ryan Knight...
