It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover had especially strong praise for Blake Lively’s performance in the big-screen adaptation of her best-selling novel.
In a conversation with People, Hoover opened up about her experience serving as an executive producer on the film, noting that the process has been “absolutely incredible and surreal” for her. She explained that everyone who has worked on the film has been dedicated to making the adaptation as faithful and heartfelt as possible.
The author noted that Lively gives a “captivating, stunning and emotional” performance in the lead role. “There aren’t enough words to describe her phenomenal talent,” she added. “Blake Lively truly brought Lily Bloom to life in a way that exceeded all my expectations.”
Hoover continued, “When I wrote Lily’s character, I thought I had a fairly solid image in mind, but Blake’s portrayal added so much depth and complexity...

Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon was supposed to be heading into production on Scream 7 soon – but that project has turned out to be so troubled, he had to activate his ejector seat and get out of there. While he has since been replaced on Scream 7 by Kevin Williamson, he has been busy lining up other genre projects, signing on to direct the werewolf thriller Big Bad and the “fast-paced thriller” Drop. Coming our way from Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, the production company team that has previously brought us the Purge franchise, Drop is moving forward first, and we’ve previously heard that it’s set to star Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus season 2), Violett Beane (The Flash), Brandon Sklenar (1923), and newcomer Jacob Robinson, who has a large following on his parent-run Tik Tok account. Now Deadline reports that Jeffery Self of Search Party and The...

Christopher Landon is to make Drop, a new thriller whose cast is coming together. More on the movie right here.
It’s been several months now since Christopher Landon – he of Happy Death Day and Freaky – departed Scream 7 as cast members Melissa Barrera (currently on the big screen in the terrific Abigail) and Jenna Ortega left the films for different reasons (Ortega’s commitments to shooting the new series of Wednesday were said to have taken her out of the film). Landon was reported to have moved on at the end of last year, but even then, it was weeks before that he apparently quit the project.
While Kevin Williamson picks up Scream 7 – with a returning Neve Campbell – Christopher Landon has effectively gone home, to Jason Blum’s Blumhouse company. Well, that and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. The two production companies are coming together for the film Drop,...

Columbia Pictures and Wayfarer Studios It Ends With Us, directed and starring Justin Baldoni, and also headlining Blake Lively has moved from June 21 to Aug. 9. The pic is based on the Colleen Hoover novel.
Sony believes the film will be strong counterprogramming in the early August frame against Lionsgate’s Borderlands, Amazon MGM’s The Fire Inside and the movie, and Warner Bros’ M. Night Shyamalan genre thriller The Trap.
It Ends With Us moves away from Focus Features’ Bikeriders on June 21, which stands as the only wide release. Following Sony’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die on June 7, the month’s box office will get a big boon from Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 on June 14. The next big tentpole after that amid a month of adult skewing titles that includes New Line’s The Watchers and Kevin Costner’s Horizon, is Illumination/Universal’s Despicable Me 4.

For generations, every reader repeated the same phrase, “The book is better than the movie.” The phrase became a critical reflex to some of the most mediocre adaptations until Hollywood decided to not cut corners and genuinely pay more attention to the source material. As a result, fans raised questions when books turned into movies. Until the entertainment industry did justice to the books justice by creating memorable movie or TV Series adaptations such as The Lord of The Rings, The Godfather, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, and so much more.

With the SAG-AFTRA strike finally over, it looks like Justin Baldoni’s adaptation of the beloved novel, It Ends With Us, could finally go back into production. No word yet on when the movie will resume filming, but it’s been on hold since May, as the film’s shooting was disrupted by strike WGA workers, a situation not helped when actors went on strike two months later. While the movie now has the green light to start again, it may not be so easy, as the movie will have to juggle the schedules of its highly in demand actors. Blake Lively is rumoured to be acting opposite Anna Kendrick in a sequel to A Simple Favor, but one of this film’s stars, Brandon Sklenar, will likely be due back on the set of the Yellowstone prequel 1923. Paramount Plus is no doubt eager to start shooting the second...

The wait for the last-ever episodes of Yellowstone has been excruciating, but we now know when the final episodes are set to air.
Paramount Network confirmed Thursday that the second half of Yellowstone Season 5 is set to premiere in November 2024.
While the episodes were initially set to premiere this summer, Kevin Costner's availability, as well as the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, took the series out of contention for a 2023 return date.
Yellowstone tells the sprawling story of the Dutton family, and the series doesn't exactly have a fast turnaround time when it comes to production.
Amid alleged behind-the-scenes drama, Paramount confirmed earlier this year that the red-hot series would end with these final episodes of the season.
Before the series ending announcement, six episodes remained of Yellowstone Season 5, but there's a good chance that will change now that the last-minute decision to end the show has been made.

[This story contains spoilers from 1883, 1923 and Yellowstone season five.]
With each new series in the megahit Yellowstone franchise, a new generation of Duttons emerges. After launching in 2018 with Kevin Costner’s central patriarch John Dutton and his immediate family, creator Taylor Sheridan traveled back in time to expand the franchise and introduce elder generations of Duttons, first with the single season of 1883 and now with the series 1923, which has been renewed for a second season.
The Dutton family tree has branched out as Yellowstone has been airing, with the flagship series currently at the halfway point in its fifth and final run. First, viewers followed James (Tim McGraw) and Margaret Dutton (Faith Hill) on their family’s treacherous journey west through the Great Plains in 1883, a trek that would ultimately lead to what becomes the Yellowstone ranch of the flagship series. And later, 1923 would introduce the audience to Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren), the Duttons who...

1923: Has It Been Renewed for Season 2?
Unlike 1883, which was designed as one season to tell a complete story, 1923 is getting a second season.
As the writing process was underway, Taylor Sheridan realized he needed more time to wrap up the storylines, which means we're getting a second season.
It will probably be the final season because the superproducer has been vocal about not wanting to keep the shows on the air beyond their initial storylines.

The movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestseller "It Ends With Us" is on its way. Filming officially kicked off in May, and fans started to get glimpses of what's in store in the form of behind-the-scenes pictures of Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, and Brandon Sklenar in character in Hoboken, NJ. Though production was paused in May due to the ongoing WGA strike, on July 7, Sony announced the film will be heading to theaters in early 2024.
The release date comes weeks after Hoover defended the movie's casting and the costumes - which some fans reacted strongly to when they saw the first images from set - and promised they were going to be "so happy" with the final film.

The film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel “It Ends With Us” has set Feb. 9, 2024 as its theatrical release date despite its halted production in the wake of the WGA writers’ strike.
The Columbia and Wayfarer Studios film will star Blake Lively as Lily Bloom, a Boston resident who finds an unexpected kindred spirit in neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni). Their relationship takes some twists and turns, and Lily’s high school love interest Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar) comes back into the picture to complicate things further.
According to a Deadline report from June’s shutdown, less than half the movie has been shot. Filming is paused until the completion of the writers’ strike following the production’s failure to persuade the guild last month that Wayfarer Studios’ cofinancing of the project made it an indie film, which would have allowed it to continue filming within the strike’s guidelines.

The latest show affected by the ongoing writers strike is 1923. Filming for the second season of the Yellowstone prequel was scheduled to start earlier this month in Montana but production has now been “delayed indefinitely.”
According to a report from NBC Montana, Butte Civic Center manager Bill Melvin said he was contacted by the production of the Paramount+ series that filming had been postponed as the WGA strike continues.
Filming for the sophomore season of 1923 was due to start on Monday, June 5, and according to Melvin, production is paying $75,000 a month to use the Civic Center through the end of the year.
Creator Taylor Sheridan was already eyeing two seasons for 1923 but Paramount+ officially confirmed a second eight-episode season earlier this year to finish off the saga starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Taylor Sheridan fans are looking forward to getting updates regarding 1923 Season 2. Unfortunately, it seems production is currently paused for the next season, leaving fans in limbo regarding what will happen next. So, when is 1923 Season 2 slated to premiere? Here’s an estimate along with what we know so far.
When will ‘1923’ Season 2 premiere?
1923 proved to be a huge success for Taylor Sheridan and Paramount+. Coming off the heels of 1883 was no easy task. But thanks to 1923‘s original story and star-powered cast, fans loved it and can’t wait for more. Unfortunately, it seems production hit a few snags for 1923 Season 2, delaying its premiere date.
Filming for 1923 Season 2 was allegedly supposed to begin in June 2023. That hasn’t happened due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America Strike. The Writers Guild of America represents 11,500 screenwriters, and they stopped doing their jobs after a labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

If you’re a fan of “Yellowstone,” you know that the show and its spin-off prequel series are filled with beautiful landscapes, seriously dramatic events and scene-stealing characters that you love to hate or hate to love. But what you may not know is all the ins and outs of every character’s past and their lineage, especially the Dutton family. There have been sons, adopted sons, daughters, aunts and uncles taking care of nephews, friends, enemies, legacy-altering events, and we still don’t officially know who John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) grandfather is!
And with the end of “Yellowstone” Season 5 coming later this year — which will also mark the end of the series — now is the perfect time to get the “Yellowstone” timeline all straightened out, especially because the franchise-expanding spin-offs are just getting started.

Production designers had their hands full the past year, recreating everything from an 18th century palace large enough for indoor badminton games to retro kitchens that looked like they were straight out of the 1970s. To achieve their period-accurate sets, they consulted books, photos and guild archives.
For the third season of “The Great,” production designer Francesca Di Mottola a built a “gigantic games room where anything could happen and served many different purposes,” horse breeding among them. The production designer began scouting locations in the U.K., where the black comedy about Catherine the Great is filmed, but none quite fit what she was looking for, so she built the room on a soundstage.
The room, which first appeared in episode 3 of the Hulu series, had high ceilings and paneled walls with timber all around. It needed to be large enough for parties in addition to badminton games and horse breeding.

The latest series in Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” franchise, “1923,” tells the story of a world in transition. The rural, classically Western values of “1883” are colliding with the modern technology of washing machines and automobiles, and the scope of the mythology has expanded beyond American borders to follow characters all over the world. That meant big challenges and exciting opportunities for costume designer Janie Bryant, who was tasked with creating wardrobe for hundreds of speaking roles and stunt players as well as thousands of extras. “We shot the show on three continents and I had four costume teams: one in L.A., one in Montana, one in South Africa, and one in Malta,” Bryant told IndieWire. “You have to take it a few days at a time, or a week at a time. You can’t think of the whole all at once because it’s too overwhelming.”

“This is like Homer’s ‘Odyssey’,” declares Brandon Sklenar about the journey of his character Spencer Dutton on the Paramount + drama “1923.” The period western is the latest prequel series to this hit drama “Yellowstone,” but Spencer exists in a world far removed from his fellow Duttons fighting to protect the ranch in the wilds of Montana. The first season of “1923” sees Spencer travel from the wilds of Africa to the waters off the Italian coastline as battles wild animals and runs from his past.
In an exclusive video interview with Gold Derby (watch above), Sklenar discusses the challenges and blessings of filming on location, as well as his view of how the character defies the stereotype of the leading man.

Blake Lively walked down memory lane this week, recalling the Tiffany & Co. gift she bought for herself after booking Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Lively shared the story while speaking with Et at the Tiffany & Co Landmark Reopening event in New York City.
“It was when I got my first job, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and it was like, what are you going to do for yourself that will be something that will last for your lifetime?” Lively said.
“I bought the ball bracelet,” she added of one of the brand’s most well-known pieces.
“I couldn’t afford the one with the heart,” she continued, but joked, “I might have had a knockoff of that when I was in sixth grade, but we don’t talk about that.”
Lively was dressed to the nines in vintage Tiffany jewelry, and also spoke to Et about the upcoming Met Gala.

Earlier this week TheWrap hosted a screening of the first episode of “1923,” with stars Helen Mirren, Brandon Sklenar and Aminah Nieves, along with editor Chad Galster, production designer Cary White and assistant costume designer Samantha Pavlat.
It was a fascinating chat (you can watch the whole thing above), but what was particularly intriguing was when the topic of joining a beloved franchise like “Yellowstone” was brought up.
“I don’t see it as a franchise,” Mirren said. “I don’t see it like that.”
But if it isn’t a franchise to Mirren, then what is it?
