‘Britain’s Got Talent’ bosses have been forced to publicly defend their recent decision to allow Shirlena Johnson to audition for the show.
The eccentric singer – who was quietly asked to leave ‘The X Factor’ after producers were made aware that she had been suffering from long term mental health problems – has admitted bosses of the ITV1 show didn’t question her about her fragile state of mind.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “They didn’t ask me about any medical documents at all.”
However, a spokesperson for the talent contest has claimed that it would be ‘discrimination’ if they didn’t allow the mum of one to try out for the revamped judging panel, Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff.

Whacky singer Shirlena Johnson has revealed that after failing to succeed on The X Factor last year, she will be making another bid for fame on Britain’s Got talent.
The mum of one was seen on the ITV singing show, singing a bizarre version of Duffy’s Mercy, in which she strangely chanted and spoke more than she sang. Simon Cowell told her she was ‘absolutely mad’ and compared her performance to a ‘musical exorcism’ but liked Shirl enough to send her through to bootcamp. However a letter from her doctors advised that Johnson suffered from depression and may be unable to cope with the pressures of fame, so she was dropped from the judges houses lineup.

Sinitta has claimed that backgrounds and past mistakes shouldn’t count in The X Factor.
The former pop star stepped in once more, to help Simon Cowell choose his final three acts for the live shows. Speaking about some hopefuls who didn’t make it to judges houses because of their troubled backgrounds, she told Now:
‘The whole thing about Chloe Mafia being a prostitute is ridiculous.’
‘Who knows if she was or not – the past shouldn’t stop you having a second chance.
‘I loved Shirlena [Johnson]. Who are we to say if someone’s too unstable? After all, everyone in our industry is a little bit.
‘There was also a rumour that I was fired from the show this summer – I read it so many times, even I thought I’d been axed. Simon would never do that!’
On who will win the 2010 series, Sinitta continued:
‘Cheryl’s got...

Louis Walsh has insisted that Simon Cowell made the wrong decision in axing Shirlena Johnson from The X Factor.
Shirlena was seen on an earlier audition show, singing a bizarre version of Duffy’s Mercy, in which she strangely chanted and spoke more than she sang. Simon Cowell told her she was ‘absolutely mad’ and compared her performance to a ‘musical exorcism’ but liked Shirl enough to send her through to bootcamp.
However, Shirlena was later told that she would no longer be competing for a place in the live finals, after it was revealed that she was suffering from a range of psychological problems.
Louis has told the Daily Mirror that Simon now wants her back, adding that viewers love eccentric people. He said:
“Simon wants her back. We love eccentric people, it’s what the X Factor is all about.”
“All the best stars are completely nuts. Look at Madonna or Lady Gaga.

Shirlena Johnson has hit out at X Factor bosses, claiming that they have refused to reinstate her on the show, despite mental health experts stating that she is stable enough to return.

Sinitta has claimed that Louis Walsh is glad that she has been axed from The X Factor.
After the desperate wannabe named the show in a private business venture of her own earlier this year, seemingly promising people who joined her website a place on the X Factor shows, Simon was reported to have cut all professional ties with Sinitta.
In an interview with The People, the singer has claimed that Louis Walsh was delighted that she wouldn’t be about the set anymore.
She said:
“I know he likes the fact I’m not on the show anymore.
“I think he would be quite happy if I remained axed. He thinks I can’t sing and I’m crazy. He’s made that very clear.
“But I’ve sold millions of records. Have you ever heard Louis sing?
“We can get a bit bitchy about each other because that...
