Dog toys and roving Regency-era balls. Small-artisan hand-etched mirrors and allergy medicine. “Bridgerton” has become so much more than a TV show. Heading into Season 3 of Shonda Rhimes’ massively popular period romance series, Netflix has found that viewers aren’t just invested in the love story of new leading couple Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) — they want to invest in the brand itself.
That means a fandom spending its dollars on a growing merch and events business that helps them celebrate each new season of the show, which is based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels. Equally important, it tides them over between installments (which take quite some time to produce).

In collaboration with longtime Shondaland costume designer Lyn Elizabeth Paolo, Shondaland and Allure Bridals have announced a first-ever bridal gown collection inspired by the opulence of Netflix’s Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte. The Bridgerton Weddings collection will bring to life Paolo’s exquisite Regency- and Georgian-era designs that have come to define the multifaceted Queen Charlotte in the Bridgerton prequel series. Paolo previously worked as a costume consultant on Bridgerton and is an intimate part of bringing the sumptuous Bridgerverse to life.
The idea behind the collection was initiated by Shonda Rhimes and Sandie Bailey, Shondaland’s chief innovation and design officer, when they approached Paolo with the opportunity to design a bridal gown collection influenced by Queen Charlotte’s era in the Bridgerton series.
“The Allure team have been spectacular in listening and sharing and creating together,” says Paolo, who’s worked with Shondaland for a decade on shows including Scandal,...

“It’s what we’ve dreamt about as designers: to be included and to have a seat at the table,” says costume designer Ellen Mirojnick, on a call ahead of the Nov. 15 launch of the Bridgerton x Monica Rich Kosann fine jewelry collection. The collaboration between the Bridgerton season one costume designer and the New York City-based jeweler also kicks off the new “Seat at the Table” initiative from Shondaland, the production company behind the steamy period romance, geared toward including creatives in licensing deals.
Mirojnick is essentially the architect of the ongoing Bridgerton-fueled “Regencycore” trend, having established the show’s influential Easter Egg-hued palette of contemporary-meets-Regency-Era silhouettes. Ahead of the Netflix juggernaut’s sophomore run last spring (costume designed...
