"The award for Best Feature Film goes to Antes O Tempo Não Acabava, by Sérgio Andrade and Fábio Baldo (Brazil) for its complex vision of what a queer film could be. It questions identities from a sexual, geographical, cultural, ethnic and political point of view and avoids any kind of stereotypes. The film succeeds by forging a very interesting cinematographic aesthetics that combines documentary and fiction in an unusual way so as to allow the characters to become the authors of their own unconventional portraits. The film demonstrates thereby what identities have always been: an ever-changing process resulting from internal and external constructions."
